Universal Orlando is wonderful! I am a Disney girl, through and through, but I adore my trips to Universal, too.

Some of my favorite reasons for staying at a Universal Premier resort are: you are literally within easy walking distance to both Universal parks & Citywalk AND you get the unlimited Express Pass for free.

I once took a trip to Universal during peak Spring Break season & another time over Memorial Day weekend. Wait times soared. But we did not rush to anything. We slept in, we meandered, taking our time soaking in all the little details, snapping pictures, taking long meal breaks, and still we rode every.single.ride. We rode all our favorites twice. We didn't wait for more than 15 minutes for anything eligible for the express pass.

‼️ WARNING LONG POST!! ‼️
One thing I am asked frequently is "how can I save money at Disney?". So I decided to share with you some tips and tricks to get you to Disney on a budget and still have fun!

🏨 Stay on Disney Property
Many people will say staying off property is cheaper, but what they do not realize is the extra expenses that will occur. By staying ON property you have access to Disney transportation. So now you don’t have to worry about car rental expenses or parking fees. If you already have a car with you, you can park for FREE if staying on Disney property.
Take advantage of early entry (every park opens a half hour early just for resort guests!)
On a tight budget, try a value resort. They are clean, well-maintained and at a low cost they still give you all the perks of staying on property.
By staying on property you are able to enjoy your time at the hotel, swim in the pools, and really end up saving money overall.

🎟️ Enjoy Disney all week
For every extra day you visit the Disney parks, your savings get better and better. It is much more cost effective to spend six days at Walt Disney World instead of a few days at Disney and a few days somewhere else. The longer you stay, the cheaper it is per day & with a longer stay you can save money and skip the “hopper” option if you want!

🍴 Character Meals = Dining Plan
The dining plan may not be for everyone & if you are on the fence about it, I personally work with you to map out your expenses to see if its cost effective for you. BUT if you want to get the most bang for your buck and utilize your time properly then I say get the dining plan and eat a whole lotta character meals!! Not only are most of them buffet so fill up your plate (& your belly) but you get to meet some of the most popular characters and save time in the park waiting online to see them. Who wants to wait in line to see a character when they can come right to your table while you’re eating!!!

📦 Use Amazon Prime or Any Other Delivery Service
If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can order all kinds of pantry items delivered to your hotel on the day you arrive. Stock up on snacks, juice boxes, water bottles etc. to bring with you in the parks or to have handy in your room!
**Bring in drinks!!! Believe me this will save you PLENTY of money and those on the dining plan DO NOT use your snack credits for drinks (save them for the good stuff like DOLE WHIPS!)

💰 Let children pay for their own souvenirs
Give the kids their own gift cards, this will help you budget your spending and theirs! Plus, if they are anything like my boys, they will love paying for their own things!!

🌧️ Bring Ponchos
Bring rain ponchos from home and STAY at the park when it rains. I own WDW ponchos (I paid the high price and I bring them with me each trip, but you can also purchase much cheaper ponchos ahead of time too) Rain = empty park so throw on those ponchos and HAVE FUN!

🤩 Tips on how to start saving for your dream Disney vacation
1. Start a travel savings jar. We empty our change daily into a jar and believe me it adds up quick.
2. Cut back on small expenses, such as a daily coffee. Saving just $5 per day for one year will add $1,725 to your vacation fund.
3. Get Disney Gift Cards (even discounted! - Visit a Sam’s Club or BJ’s and purchase $100 gift card at a discounted price. The savings will add up quick!) Use the gift cards to pay for your WDW package and any purchases made within the WDW resort!
4. Book early and set up a payment plan! Did you know that I can set up a payment plan to help pay for your trip? And the earlier you book the more time you have to pay. Best part is, IF a discount comes out and your package meets the requirements/availability we can apply the discount and save even more money!

2024 may not have been the year I envisioned, but reflecting back, I realize it was truly an amazing year. While I may not have reached my sales goals, I had the incredible opportunity to book numerous trips beyond the usual Disney and Universal itineraries. As the year comes to an end I like to look back and reflect on the traveling I’ve done….

This year was one for the books (especially with cruising!)

🏒 January: Headed to Massachusetts for a hockey tournament
🏟️ February: Virginia for another hockey tournament and then NJ for the Stadium Series game!
🪄 March: Second Story’s Annual Conference to WDW and Universal. Then headed back to WDW for Easter with the family!
🚢 April: kicked it off in Disney, then our annual Framily Cruise with the best! After the cruise we road tripped home, making a stop at Disney’s Hilton Head resort
🏒 May: Connecticut for a Hockey Tournament
🎂 June: WDW for Cole’s 7th birthday and Chase went to Ohio to play in the Nasher cup
🎥 July: headed to the west coast and ended the month in Universal Hollywood!
🏰 August: this was a coast to coast month- started in Disneyland and ended in WDW
We enjoyed Disneyland for Chase’s 13th birthday then at the end of the month I headed to WDW for a VIP tour with SST, enjoyed the Halloween party with friends and then Corey and I enjoyed a weekend in Disney!
🚢 September: The cousins of the Framily group headed on the Magic to celebrate the older kids 13th birthdays!
🏒 October: Traveled for Hockey!
🚢 November: Cole and I took my mom on a Merry time Sailing on the Disney Dream and it was magical
🧙 December: Spent 24 hours in WDW embracing all things Christmas, then headed to Universal as I was invited to their very first Symposium which was incredible! Then ended the month at Hershey with the family to keep the Christmas magic going.

Wow! It was some year…..
I worked hard, learned a lot and prepped myself to make 2025 even better!! I cannot wait to see what the new year brings.
