The Board of Trustees of the Medina County Arts Foundation and CAMEO wish to thank the supporters, patrons, performers, musicians, technicians, and countless volunteers and friends who have helped us to create artistic magic for the past two decades. Upon deep consideration, the Board has made the difficult decision to dissolve the Medina County Arts Foundation and CAMEO. This decision was not arrived at lightly, but the challenges of producing entertainment for our community in a post-COVID world are substantial. While this announcement is made with a heavy heart, the memories of the shows, concerts, and events will be carried with us forever. The Board of Trustees will be working to identify verified non-profit organizations who may be potential candidates to receive remaining funds. While the lights may have dimmed for our time on stage, we are confident that the many amazing arts organizations in the Medina community will ensure that the show will go on.

Presenting an EXCITING one-time event here at MHS! The Encore Holiday Extravaganza -- All events held at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Activities for kids in the PAC lobby begin at 6pm and will include visits with Santa, treats, coloring, and ornament and decoration making! At 7pm all audience members will be invited to the auditorium for a special high-energy Holiday musical performance by the awards Encore Entertainment Company. As you prepare to head into the holiday season with the kickoff of the Candlelight Walk this weekend here in historic Medina, the Medina County Arts Foundation and CAMEO would like to share the following updates.

The Medina County Arts Foundation has decided to postpone our 2021 holiday event, The Dr. Ron Ricci Medina Holiday Pops Concert with the Akron Symphony Orchestra. The health and safety of our artists, staff and patrons continue to be of utmost importance, and we felt it was best to postpone at this time of continued uncertainty. We thank you for your patronage, and look forward to enjoying seasonal favorites with the Akron Symphony next year. In the meantime, if you are looking for a musical event to enjoy over the holidays, we recommend Home for the Holidays with the Akron Symphony Orchestra at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall or any of the school concerts at the Medina Performing Arts Center.

Walt Disney once said, “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” We wish Mike Sferro well as he chooses to take Walt’s advice and keep moving forward to new ventures and new paths. His decision to end his work at the PAC is separate from his dedication to MCAF and his commitment to serve the foundation. Mike will remain a trustee and now serve as treasurer of the Medina County Arts Foundation as well as being involved in CAMEO’s future endeavors.

Meet our Broadway in Concert Cast!

Logan Yates is no stranger to the Medina PAC Stage, through the years you could find him performing with Encore Entertainment Company, Concert Choir, Band and much more. His previous CAMEO involvements include the Wizard of Oz crew and Broadway in Concert 2018. As for a memory on stage Logan will never forget he said "My last performance as a student at MHS - if you know you know"

At this time tomorrow, opening night will be well under way! But for now, meet another one of our amazing cast members, Cindy Smith!

You may have seen Cindy in CAMEO's production of Songs For A New World and we are so happy to have her back for Broadway in Concert. Cindy has had her fair share of performances on stage, but the one that sticks out to her most is "I was playing the role of Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun. During the big Act I finale chorus number, my skirt fell off while I was dancing and twirling. I didn’t know it immediately, but it was curious why all of the back stage crew were suddenly entranced by the performance, watching intensely from the wings. In Annie Oakley fashion, I just picked up my skirt, took a big bow, and continued on with the scene. After the dance was over, the actor playing Sitting Bull pronounced with great joy, “Me like show business!!!!” The audience and cast went wild. Ah, the pure joy of live theatre."

Meet the Broadway in Concert cast!

We are so excited to have Dan Polk in the Broadway in Concert cast. Dan's previous CAMEO credits include Next To Normal and Broadway in Concert 2018 and his favorite musicals include Next to Normal and Carousel. Dan has a lot of performance memories that he loves but two moments that he will never forget are "being able to sing a duet with my daughter Megan during Mammia Mia at Cassidy Theatre and singing light with Meredith during Next to Normal."

CAMEO's Broadway in Concert opens Friday - and we're still introducing you to our amazing cast.

Please help us welcome Gabby Husbands back to the stage! Gabby, like most of our cast, is no stranger to the PAC stage. You may have seen Gabby in Broadway in Concert in 2018, or during her high school years performing with Encore Entertainment Company, Medina Choirs, school musicals, and basically any other chance she had to be on stage.
Through her years of performing, her favorite memory comes down to a moment with her sister, Sarah. "The last Broadway in Concert performance, after singing Defying Gravity with Sarah, we went behind the curtain and hugged each other and cried".

There are plenty of opportunities to see this show! We open this Friday, July 23 and will run July 24, 30, 31 at 7:30 PM and July 25 & August 1 at 2:30 PM.

Meet the Broadway in Concert Cast!

We are so happy to have Sarah Husbands back at the PAC! You may have seen Sarah in many CAMEO productions including Rent, Macbeth the Rock opera and what she claims as her most challenging role - child number four in the Music Man. With all her experience on stage Sarah says her most memorable performance was closing night of RENT.

We are so excited to welcome Molly Oldham back to our stage! Molly's favorite musical is Come From Away and is no stranger to CAMEO with previous credits including Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz and Best Of CAMEO.

Molly has had a lot of moment on the stage that she will never forget, but one that will always stick out to her went as follows; "I was surprised by the TV Show, Random Acts! I thought I was participating in a mini virtual concert with my classmates at UNCG, but they had invited 40 other Cancer warriors and Cancer supporters to watch the concert. The finale was my duet of “For Good” from Wicked. I had rehearsed with a classmate but instead, out walks Shoshana Bean and we did the duet together!"

Meet the Broadway in Concert Cast!

After appearing in CAMEO productions’ Songs for a New World and Broadway in Concert 2018 we are so excited to have Tyler Skidmore in our 2021 cast! Tyler’s favorite musical is Ragtime and a performance he will never forget is “around 15 years ago as a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. I had the chance to sing a solo during a medley of My Fair Lady songs in a performance at the Blossom Music Center.”

Meet the cast of Broadway in Concert!

Meredith Stout has been in many CAMEO productions including; Next to Normal, Godspell, Little Women, Oliver! and we are so excited to have her back for Broadway in Concert.

Being surrounded by music her whole life, Meredith's favorite musical is Les Miserables. She has many memories of performing and her favorite moments include pre-show ghost light chats in the blackbox and the first and last times the Next to Normal cast sang "Light" together.

Please welcome back to the stage Megan Polk. Megan grew up on the PAC stage with involvement in Medina Encore Entertainment Company, the yearly musical and CAMEO's production of Wizard of Oz.

Megan loves the musical Mean Girls and when thinking about a performance that she will never forget she says "Entering the stage as Heather Chandler in Heathers during the title “tinkle music” music theme in Beautiful. Nothing is cooler!"

Meet our Broadway in Concert Cast!

Ryan Routh is a lover of the musical Wicked and is no stranger to the PAC stage. He will be returning for Broadway in Concert after performing in previous CAMEO productions of RENT, West Side Story, Godspell and Broadway in Concert 2018.

Ryan says a moment he will never for get on stage is “I will never forget stepping out on the stage as Santa Angel at the beginning of "Today 4 U" on opening night of RENT. The energy was palpable, and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life!”

After previously performing in Next to Normal and Broadway in Concert 2018 we are so excited to have Kirsten Forshew back on the PAC stage.

Kirstens current favorite musical is Into the Woods and a memory on stage that she will never forget is the closing performance of CAMEO's Next to Normal.

Meet our Broadway in Concert Cast!

Kimberly States is returning to the CAMEO stage after previously performing in Broadway in Concert 2018 and The King and I, and her current favorite musical is Company.

A performance in Kims life that she will never forget is as follows; "When I was just a young whippersnapper, I was in an Italian opera and I blanked out on some of the Italian words during one of my arias. I substituted some of the words with common pasta shapes like Linguini, Tortellini etc. Certainly something that I will never forget."

She is so excited to bring the stage back to life again and can't wait to see you all at Broadway in Concert at the PAC on July 23,24,30,31 at 7:30PM and July 25 & August 1 at 2:30 PM.
