Visit Meeker Colorado to start your voyage across the Flat Tops Scenic Byway! The byway is closed in the winter, but reopens around the end of May.
Connecting the towns of Meeker & Yampa, the Flat Tops Trail National Forest Scenic Byway is one of 26 of the Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways. It showcases the White River National Forest and the Routt National Forests’ long history of multiple-use land management and remains a “working byway” providing access to public lands as well as rangeland for local sheep and cattle ranchers. The 82-mile drive is accessible with any passenger vehicle (during summer) and is an ideal location to view pristine scenery and wildlife. The Bear River corridor, Chapman and Sheriff Reservoirs, and Dunckley Pass are popular locations. It is popular for big game hunting, picnics, scenic driving, admiring fall colors, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, horseback riding, and more.
Featuring black-and-white images of the Colorado Scenic and Historic Byways, similar to Ansel Adams. Enjoy!
