Tupelo tours by Memphis Road Tours We offer guided tours to Tupelo, the city where Elvis Presley lived the first 13 years of his life. My tour in Tupelo begins at the Birthplace.

You will tour the actual home, the renovated museum, the restored original church, the 1979 chapel, and the landscaped grounds. There is an admission fee to tour the Birthplace home and museum. Then we visit the other places which were part of Elvis' life in Tupelo. Ten of those places are marked with an historic plaque. We visit the site of the Assembly of God church, Lawhon Elementary School, Jo

hnnie's Drive-In, site of the Fairgrounds, Tupelo Hardware, site of Shakerag neighborhood, site of Mayhorn's grocery, site of WELO radio broadcasting, and last Priceville Cemetery. We will eat lunch at Johnnie's Drive-In, where Elvis ate: unless we do a tour on Sunday. Johnnie's is closed on Sundays. If available we will go inside the office of Lawhon Elementary which has a nice exhibit of photos and mementos. We will go inside Tupelo Hardware which is open every day but Sunday. At Priceville Cemetery, depending on the weather, we walk to the approximate location of Jesse Garon's grave, Elvis' brother.

It’s rockin at the Elvis. Presley Birthplace for Fan Appreciation Day. If you didn’t come, you missed lots of free music, door prizes and reduced ticket prices. David Lee ETA performed and even asked a few young boys to perform on stage. They were great!!

Rachel Potter, of Surprise Arizona, has her photo taken by Sue Freeman, owner and tour guide of Memphis Road Tours, as she sits on the newly unveiled Lisa Marie bench dedicated by the Tupelo Elvis Fan Club on April 13, 2023, at the Elvis Presley Birthplace. The new bench will be placed next the bench dedicated to Elvis near the water fall at the lake on the Birthplace grounds.

It is with a broken heart that I let you know that Mike passed away peacefully at 2:14 am this morning. I was by his side. Arrangements will be made tomorrow and I will post the details here.

Mike had a rough day Sunday with vomiting. I had to call hospice and the nurse came out to see him. Another adjustment with medications to help with nausea. It’s another sign that things are progressing. We adjusted his diet to prevent vomiting. However, he has only nibbled on a few things since Sunday. He is sleeping most of the day now. He is also experiencing some side affects from one of his medications. I will be discussing that with the nurse when she comes today. On a positive side of things, his pain is under control and the bedsores that were just starting the other day are almost totally gone. We caught it early and treated it aggressively.

We’re settling into a routine. Mike is doing ok. He’s awake and alert most of the day. He takes a lot of catnaps. No pain. There are some signs that he is failing. We are just taking it day by day.

Mike is home. We had a very restless night the first night with little sleep. Yesterday was very busy with lots of people here to help and hospice coming in and visitors. Last night he slept very well. Today was a bit quieter. His appetite is up and down. Hes taking mini naps throughout the day. Still no pain. He’s happy to be home and so am I.

My husband, Mike Freeman was diagnosed 10 days ago with Multiple Myeloma. It is a rare and aggressive blood cancer and there is no cure. As a result, Mike is now in kidney failure. He is under hospice care. Prayers for his comfort and a peaceful passing would be greatly appreciated. 💔😭💔😭

The city is asking the state of Tennessee for millions, to help with renovations to FedExForum, Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium and AutoZone Park.

THE PLAN ALSO CALLS FOR REPLACING MID-SOUTH COLISEUM WITH A SOCCER STADIUM.

Let’s bombard Memphis City Hall with letters expressing our disapproval and disappointment with this decision.

Last week I asked if you knew where this was and it’s connection to Elvis. It’s the east side of the Lee County Courthouse in Tupelo standing on the steps looking out. It was here that Elvis sang and played on the radio for the first time. Mississippi Slim had a radio show on WELO that was broadcast weekly from the courthouse steps. This is the view Elvis would have had.
