How do you deal with difficult people in your life?
1. Refuse to be offended. Proverbs 19:11 (GW) says, "A person with good sense is patient, and it is to his credit that he overlooks an offense."
2. Don't wait for an apology to forgive them. The Bible says in Colossians 3:13, "Make allowance for each otherâs faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others." (NLT).
3. Refuse to gossip about them. In Proverbs 17:9 the Bible says, "Whoever forgives someoneâs sin makes a friend, but gossiping about the sin breaks up friendships" (NCV).
4. Refuse to play their game. In 2 Corinthians 4:2 Paul says, "We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We donât try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this" (NLT).
5. Refuse to cave in. Paul said, "We have freedom now, because Christ made us free. So stand strong. Do not change and go back into the slavery of the law" (Galatians 5:1 NCV).
6. Always take the high ground. Romans 12:14 (GNT) says, "Ask God to bless those who persecute youâyes, ask him to bless, not to curse."
