It’s 23 degrees here and absolutely magical. I have never seen snow in Mexico Beach but here we are! It looks like maybe an inch and a half of snow is turning to ice. The sea oats are shivering but the Gulf of Mexico is shimmering. VacationMexicoBeach.com

We have a lot of decorating and furnishing left to do at our newest escape, Hello Sunshine. It’s been a BUSY few days trying to get it set up for you. For now, we are celebrating the little wins: a beautiful view to enjoy a new book.

Yes, we need a rug. Yes, we can’t wait to install curtains. Yes! We can’t wait until it’s finished. And still, it is so fun to start enjoying this gorgeous home.

Prepping for New Year’s Eve in Mexico Beach, we thought we would check out the White Marlin in Port St. Joe. (We like to plan ahead and you should too!)

It’s been a while since we were there and we were hoping service issues had settled down. Oh my, YES! What a treat! The Caesar salad was divine and that yummy olive bread with dipping sauce stole the show. We tried the red snapper special and the crab rice with sautéed mushrooms was ah-mazing. We took half of it home so we could indulge in this beautiful chocolate lava cake. We had a wonderful waiter who was expertly trained and actually a local - born and raised in PSJ. Excellent service in a truly beautiful setting. Let the fireworks begin!

Thank God Mexico Beach is good after this terrible hurricane. We were spared everything but the rain and we didn’t have widespread flooding. Unfortunately, many people, including many of our past guests in places like Valdosta, Atlanta and other areas, did not fare so well. Please know that Cheri and I are hoping and praying that your families are safe and that you get through this ok. If you don’t have power or need a mental health break as you recover, please DM me. We have a ❤️ for hurricane survivors.
