Here’s to my high school physics teacher Mr. Herman, who flew B-17s during WWII, Mr. Chad, my Miami-Dade-College Aviation teacher, who flew P-51s and many others I met at my fathers North Miami coin-laundry business which was surrounded by retirees who served. Mr. Lippman was a Bombardier, another customer was a paratrooper during the war. One friend of my dad’s, AL, landed on Normandy on one of the later waves. He was injured in St Lo from a gr***de and sent to England to recover. They sent him back to his unit, which he once told me but sadly I can’t remember it- something 4th infantry division. I salute you AL and all those men who landed on those beaches.
