We specialize in teaching new anglers how to approach bass fishing. If you want to learn a new lake, new technique etc. We are a Veteran owned and operated business. We offer half and full day trips, $350 full / $250 half. Our home lake is Joe Pool, and we offer services on most DFW area lakes. Equipment can be provided upon request, we use all high quality equipment. Skeeter FX20 powered by a 250

Saturday we hit Squaw Creek with Steve from Idaho. Steve is the owner of a sport fishing boat down in Cabo, Caliente Sport Fishing. If you didn’t know Cabo is our second home for fishing. Steve an advanced angler had a great time, we had a small bite window in the morning. Around 12:30-1pm the bite picked up and held until about 3. A lot of good fat healthy fish were caught. Saturday was a fun Father/Son trip, we had John and Andrew (Drew) out on Squaw Creek. We had a very good bite in the morning then it really picked up in the afternoon. Drew pours his own baits and he pulled out this color and the fish couldn’t stay off it, there’s a sneak peak in the pics. It’s always good when you help a family make memories.

We closed out Sunday’s trips with husband/wife Sam and Melissa. All I can tell you is they love to talk trash to each other…lol. I had a blast with them, we started out slow. The bite then picked up as we moved from spot to spot. It definitely got pretty hot with the little to no wind, we made a move to an offshore spot and it didn’t disappoint Sam caught a nice one. We love to see couples that fish together. I forgot to mention they actually were celebrating their anniversary with GTB Outdoors.

Sunday we had a back to back, the first half was with David a doctor/surgeon from Slovenia. He was in the US doing some robotic surgery training. We hit lake Alvarado, the day started pretty decent with several fish. This was David’s first time bass fishing, and fishing in the US. David expressed that he had a great experience catching bass. We want to wish David safe travels back home and success in all his endeavors saving lives!

Friday we had a father/son trip with Darren and Ralph, we hit Joe Pool lake. The day started a little slow with several small ones. We decided to make a move to a unique spot I have and what do you know, I saw Darren set the hook with a Sawgrass BCS 1 heavy rod. It loaded up like it’s suppose to but then it went straight and drag began to peel off, I knew then it was a good one. After some drag peeling then a few deep under the boat surges she gave up and showed herself for the net. It was hi five and fist bumping time. Darren now has a 8 # PB. Darren don’t help in the pic being 6’5…lol he dwarfed the fish but she was thick and healthy!

Thursday we had the pleasure of taking Bruce and his wife Betsy out to Comanche (squaw) Creek. Very fun trip that turned into a little competitive under cover trash talking event..lol. I won’t disclose the results but I believe they both had fun. They were in Texas visiting family and exploring. We really like trips like this! Safe travels back to Pennsylvania.

Saturday was a day filled with smiles! We had Jon and his son Maddox, let me tell you Maddox is a sharp kid, he doesn’t miss anything. First we worked on techniques and how to work them, Maddox picked it up quickly. It wasn’t long before he was reeling in fish, we caught several small fish which made for a great warmup. Before heading to the ramp I said let’s hit one more spot, and wouldn’t you know Maddox was in the fight of his life. I had to hold onto the rod along with Maddox while he reeled her in, I had to get dad to get the net. He now has a new PB and a story that will last a lifetime. There’s nothing like a proud dad moment! The pictures sums it all up!

Friday we had Cliff and his son Dylan out on Eagle Mountain. This is Dylan’s first year fishing HS tournaments. They expressed they wanted to learn techniques on how to approach tournaments and find fish. It started out tough which was good, it allowed us to cover water. It wasn’t long when the magic happened, we pulled up to a point and started catching fish. I explained the reasoning and bait choice, we caught several good keepers. I told Dylan I couldn’t show him everything as we compete in the same division…lol I didn’t say that. I think Dylan and Cliff left with a good understanding of what to look for and how to catch them.

Second half of the Saturday double header was Brandon and his good buddy Rory, these guys are school day friends. Brandon’s wife coordinated this trip for his birthday, and from their reviews GTB Outdoors didn’t disappoint. We started the afternoon picking up on the noon bite that started at the end of the earlier trip? The fish were chomping on shad and seemed to only want a wacky worm thrown in the blowup spot. I must say Brandon’s wife had him squared away, they weren’t going hungry and she even put a cold grape soda in the cooler for me….thanks! Brandon and Rory we will be waiting to take you on your next fishing adventure!

Saturday was a double header, for the morning trip we had two buddies Roderick and Archer. I love trips where buddies talk trash to each other and it becomes a competition, but you can tell these guys were true friends. We started out getting a lot of short strikes, but once they figured out how to catch them they started putting fish in the boat. Fishing has been a little funky with the lakes beginning to turn over. I can’t remember the final count but I think Roderick won the competition. Thanks guys for choosing GTB Outdoors.

Time to catch up on our post. We had the honor of taking Saul who is from Madrid Spain, he was here working in Louisana and visited Texas to go fishing. We got Saul out on the water, it was a great experience for him. He was able to catch his first bass, Texas bass, first US bass, we checked three boxes. With the cooler weather we are ramping back up. Saturday we took out Antii, a fishing guide from Finland. He was in the US to pickup 2 competition dogs. With a free day we made it out to lake Grapevine, fishing was typical dog days of summer but we managed a few good keepers. GTB took a little time off and headed down to Cabo for some much needed relaxation and fishing! Our first bite came around 8am with a short light strike and then all hell broke loose. We had a blue marlin hit the left short airborne and crossed all the lines initiating a moment of chaos. When it hit it took the other lines with it and began to spool the reel. We worked to clear the lines while the captain swung the boat around to gain some line back. We ended up tag teaming the fish for about 30 minutes or so and finally got it next to the boat and over the rail. If you want to catch a fish of a lifetime gives us a call and we can get you setup.
