Attention Veterans! We are partnering with the Maine Veterans Project to have a joint canoe trip with room for 10 veterans. Join us on July 22 through the 24th on the West Branch of the Penobscot River. Please email Darren Ripley at [email protected] or call 949-6142 to register for the canoe trip. The time of departure from Bangor is at 8 AM on Monday, July 22nd. A packing list will be provided but veterans are responsible for their own tent and sleeping bag.

Boat Safety~

Sometimes boats go for a float without their people aboard. We can't blame them for wanting to spend more time on the water and less time at the dock, but we have found that boats without a captain are even less likely to return home than an angler who says they're on their last cast.

Always label your kayak, canoe, standup paddleboard, and other paddle craft with an If Found sticker. Doing so assists search and rescue responders in efficiently determining if a true emergency exists, prevents unnecessary searches, saves thousands of dollars in associated search costs, and enables the paddle craft to be returned home.
