The entertainment on cruise ships is most definitely a huge portion of the experience. You have the opportunity to expand your range of your typical interests. Most cruises have a great variety of acts that will perform along with their own production cast. We fully encourage you to go and see these shows and support these entertainers. Many of them are doing these shows for the pure love of their craft. What makes the experience even greater is that very often you will have opportunities to talk with and engage with these wonderful people (yes, they are entertainers, but they are people 1st and many of them fully welcome you to come up to them and talk to them). On a recent voyage we had the opportunity to meet several entertainers that each left us with something in our hearts and minds.
Ashlie Amber is an amazing singer who did a tribute to the late great Whitney Huston. She is also pursuing her music career in Nashville. Moreover, she took the time to really talk to our Niece who made a connection with her.
Kid Ace performed a mesmerizing magic show that left many in awe. We ran into him many times around the ship, and he always recognized and talked with us.
Dan Delgado is a singer and trumpet player. He had the crowd rocking with his swing style music. He too was very approachable and friendly.
Mike Mentz is a musician and singer. Most of his music is meant to take you to another time or place. He played a mixture of covers in addition to his original music. We had the chance to talk to him on a few occasions and he even offered to help carry some coffee and Danishes for us to our group.
We are posting tis to not only provide some insight into what the entertainment is like, but also to point out that you could end up being able to follow and support these hard-working people. Who knows, when they become superstars, you can say you had some good conversations with them.
