The kiva in our upstairs bedroom, which we like to call the treehouse room because it's right up in the treetops with a view right out into the Gila National Forest.

Giant ancient lava rock! This area has been the site of at least 4 major mega-calderas that were active over a timeframe of 35 to 20 million years ago. It always gives us a little thrill to see lava rocks; this may be the biggest yet!

The view from the dining room into the living room at Sapillo Creek Escape. Cool, right? Did you notice the ceiling? The original owner, who built the home, cut, de-barked, sanded, stained and varnished not only the vigas and latillas himself, throughout the entire house! ⁠

Beautiful view from the Continental Divide Trail, minutes from . Did you know you can bring your well-behaved furry friend with you to our Airbnb? We love our pets, and love it when we can travel with them and stay in nice places. We've got a fenced yard, and a crate for those times you may not be able to take your pet with you.
