A phrase I myself say probably daily as a Minnesotan but all jokes aside. Winter for most of my life has been my least favorite season. Dark, cloudy days, negative temps and recently inconsistent snow fall can make it hard to embrace our Minnesota winters. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I decided to change my mindset around winter and try to thrive vs. just survive our winters.
I found a love of snowboarding, winter hikes, unique skating rinks, cozy cabin outings, and winter events that you can’t get around the rest of the country.
I want to help inspire you to do the same becuase winter is too long here to just survive it every year so let’s thrive together.

I didn’t always love living in Minnesota ✨
Growing up I had an “anywhere but here mentality” and honestly thought to travel it had to be international.
I took for granted what my home state had to offer. It wasn’t until I moved to Colorado in 2018 that I realized how much Minnesota was home, but I loved all the adventures and experiences we were having in Colorado. I realized it wasn’t just the mountains that were allowing these adventures it was my mindset around exploring a new state.
When we moved back to Minnesota I decided to keep that same mentality, while sharing all these spots with you and highlight Minnesota as an amazing place to live, visit and explore.

This is by far the most unique holiday pop-up I’ve experienced in Minnesota ✨

@travailkitchen holiday pop-up bar takes you around the world to culinary destinations like Austria, Japan, Finland, German and Cleveland (all these destinations where chosen by throwing darts at a map). This 10-course tasting menu comes with drink pairings (wine, cocktail or N/A).
We absolutely loved how they cater to food allergies. My sister is celiac and they prepped her food as close to the regular dish while keeping her food prepped separate so there was no cross contamination. She said it’s the best dining experience she’s had for a meal like this.
