Well that was an interesting night of ice fishing for Kevin, Caleb, and Aaron. 😁

Shortly after getting set up for the evening, a light drizzle turned to a heavy rain, and then continued to pour on us the entire trip. I can't say I've ever experienced fishing on 7" of ice with 4" of water on top if it. The dense fog also added an interesting twist to the night.

We did manage to catch a couple of smaller Sturgeon including first ever for Aaron visiting all the way from the UK! Aaron also hooked into and battled with a nice 50+ but unfortunately it popped as we were wrangling it though the hole ☹️.

A steady stream of fish coming though the Livescope all night and it was a very enjoyable evening.

I've tried many different lighting options for my hub ice shelter over the years (both mfg branded and homebrew). Most have worked pretty well, but what I like about this one the most is how clean and minimal it is while still providing more than enough light for even the biggest shelters and drawing less than 1 amp of power.

Short presentation from the WIDNR about Sturgeon spearing season on Lake Winnebago. I have mixed feelings about it, but you simply can't argue with the successful program and the well managed fishery they have there. They are light years ahead of most states. I just wish we could target them with hook and line similar to here in MN.

What a whirlwind day yesterday! Woke up and drove 5 hours to Oshkosh for the 2024 Wisconsin Ice Fishing Expo . Spent all day there and drove back home. I got some great video and it's already uploaded and ready to watch on YT. If you have a moment check it out. It was fun day!

I've been keeping a close eye on the ice conditions and weather forecast. Soon again we will be out on the ice hunting for some river dinos! My booking calendar is currently open starting in the last week of Dec. If I'm able to open some additional days sooner I'll update everyone here.
