⭐️We had a great stay at A Stone's Throw. They were very communicative the week leading up to our trip, and the space was clean and comfortable. It was also centrally located to town, making it easy and quick to get to restaurants, shops, activities, etc. Would recommend!

⭐️Spotless and trendy…. beautifully furnished and lighted. Good location with a cute outdoor space!

⭐️Your place is beautiful. What a great remodel! Wish we could have stayed longer.

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming Airbnb and it exceeded all my expectations! The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The check-in process was a breeze, and the host provided clear instructions that made our arrival smooth and stress-free.
The space itself is beautifully decorated, clean, and well-maintained. It immediately felt like a home away from home. The kitchen was well-equipped for us to cook meals, and the cozy living area was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the local area. The bedrooms were spacious with comfy beds ensuring a good night's sleep.
The location of this Airbnb is fantastic, nestled in a quiet neighborhood yet close to local attractions and amenities. We loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants and shops. Interested in Wisconsin's Gangster Era? The Minocqua area has great places to explore when you are staying as our guest.
A popular gangster dinner spot, Norwood Pines Super Club is one of the oldest and finest, save room for a delicious ice cream drink to finish off your meal.
Little Bohemia Lodge, a short drive to Manitowish Waters, is the site of a 1934 shootout between the Dillinger gang and FBI. The Little Bohemia Lodge still operates as a restaurant and was used as an authentic filming location for the movie Public Enemies' recreation of that fateful night. The property has been faithfully preserved to maintain its unique history: original bullet holes still pepper the walls; Dillinger memorabilia is on display.

The Manitowish Waters Bike Trail is a portion of the 52-mile Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail System – a trail system featuring modern trailheads and access to beaches, restaurants, shops, and other attractions. 🚴‍♀️

Begin at the Manitowish Waters Community Center trailhead on U.S. Hwy. 51 and Airport Road, with a playground, restrooms, and water. Head north through the trees and along the Manitowish River to Mercer. Or, pedal 1.2 miles to County Hwy. W, continue past Koller Park, the downtown business district, North Lakeland Discovery Center, and Rest Lake Park. From there, the bike trail goes east as it shadows County Hwy. K, passing Serbin Park – a trailhead with parking, a restroom, and access to Rest Lake.

The Rice Creek trailhead, located halfway to Boulder Junction on Newcomb Lane, offers a restroom, picnic tables, and a picturesque bridge spanning Rice Creek. It is approximately 16 miles to Boulder Junction.

Parking is available at the Discovery Center, Rest Lake Park, Koller Park, downtown M.W. or at the Community Center.

The Dillinger Gang in Manitowish Waters -90th Anniversary - Saturday, April 20th at 10:00am at the Frank B. Koller Memorial Library

The family of Carl C. Christensen will present a program to honor their uncle who was shot by Baby Face Nelson of the Dillinger gang 90 years ago this April 24 when the gangsters were 'ushered out” of the Little Bohemia Lodge of Manitowish Waters.
The program will be a power point presentation and discussion led by Karen Nielsen Lorence. Jerry Florian, present owner of the Cozy Cove resort once owned/operated by Carl Christensen under the name The Chateau, will be on hand to tell how he has maintained the integrity of the property. And, the library will have a display of artifacts relating to the event.

Coffee and kringle will be served. This is a FREE event, open to the public.
