Today I want to share a little bit about the destinations that I am currently planning for.

It's easy to lump me into a Disney only niche, and while I do love all things Disney, I plan for so much more than that.

I do have a handful of Disney vacations being planned with clients, but I've also had more Europe and Mexico being requested lately.

Do you ever go to church on vacation?

While we don't always go on vacation, in general we do like to check out local churches, especially when they're on stilts like this.

As my kids get older, it's been a really good experience for my kids seeing that no matter where we are, we can go to mass and it'll be almost the exact same as our home church.

In Orlando, Mary Queen of the Universe is a personal favorite. In the past year, we've also visited St. Olaf's in Williamsburg, Virginia, and the Fatima Family Shrine in South Dakota. On our next Florida vacation, there are two new churches that we're deciding between.

The easiest way to support my business is to share my page or my contact information with someone you know that is looking to travel.

I plan for all worldwide destinations and when I'm not traveling, I am always training on new destinations. My travel planning services are absolutely free. I earn my commission from wherever you decide to go.

My role is to not only book your vacation, but answer all of your questions, help problem solve before and during your vacation, ensure that your vacation is as seamless as possible, and ultimately help you become a confident traveler. Did you know that there are several Disney restaurants that take reservations outside of the main Disney reservation system??

We use OPEN TABLE to make reservations at a few of our favorite Disney restaurants.

February is our favorite month to visit Orlando/Florida and two weeks ago we booked our first Florida Mommy and Me [aka solo parent trip] to Orlando since 2019.

I dropped my kids off at their forest school and told them that when I picked them up I'd have our "winter break" all planned out. They loved the big reveal and I'm stoked to stay at my **21st** Disney resort. This is actually more of a research trip. We're staying at three resorts that we love and then a new one.

Any guesses what lucky number 21 is??

I'm ultra excited to add a new Disney resort to our list.

Anyway, the vast majority of Disney restaurants are booked on the Disney site, but there are a handful that can be booked outside of that. Know that I'm here to help you navigate all of your dining options.

I am full of all sorts of knowledge when it comes to your Disney vacation. Stop asking Alexa your Disney questions because things are CONSTANTLY changing at Disney and I am always up to date.

Yesterday, I shared one of our favorite FREE reciprocal museums, Space Center Houston. After we spent six hours there, we headed straight to another FREE reciprocal museum, Children's Museum Houston.

The children's museums in Indianapolis and Houston, both claim to be the biggest and best. We've been to the children's museum in Indianapolis a number of times and was really looking forward to checking out the one in Houston.

We loved this! Our favorite spaces were the ropes course, the rooftop, and Kidsapolis. Between Space Center Houston and Children's Museum Houston, our MSI membership had paid for itself.

Houston, we're ready for takeoff!

Space Center Houston is the Official Visitors Center of NASA's Johnson Space Center, which is the home of astronaut training and Mission Control. SCH is the only place in the world where visitors can see astronauts train for missions, touch a real moon rock, land a shuttle, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of NASA.

A fellow homeschool friend reached out to me recently about suggestions for field trips for an upcoming space science unit she's starting with her kids. Of course I had my local recommendations, but Space Center Houston tops my list of space related museums.

You know what the best part was?! We visited for FREE!

I truly can't rave enough about using reciprocal benefits for museum memberships. We've been able to visit dozens of unique museums for free simply because we are members at our local science museum [MSI or the Field Museum].

Birthdays are BIG in our house and when you have a son with a birthday just three days after Christmas, this is both a blessing and a curse. We celebrated Braiden's third birthday on the Florida panhandle, this is his sixth birthday in Texas, and then his seventh birthday is in St. Louis.

The vacation is the birthday present, but we still like having something special for the birthday. Here, it's cupcakes and hot pockets to celebrate.

Happy Friday!

Today I'm sharing more about Galveston, specifically the historic downtown.

Galveston has many faces. I love the more chill beach vibe of the west end, but it was the historic downtown that stole my heart. This is really where the island vibes meets history. From pirates and immigration, there is a lot of history here, but it was the hurricane in 1900 that really captures my attention. This is considered to be the worst hurricane in North America EVER. I'm not going to go into details about the storm, but being in the historic district really reminds me of that. This downtown was the heart of that storm.

Galveston is great for clients who want to try something other than Florida for a beach vacation. The drive/flight is painless and if you've already done the Florida panhandle, Galveston might be one to consider.

Happy Travel Tip Thursday!

Outdoor dining is a blessing. We don't eat out too much these days, but finding restaurants that have outdoor options are a game changer. No matter where we're at, for some reason dining outside makes things easier.

Here, we're eating at a gumbo restaurant in the heart of downtown Galveston. This was New Years Eve a few years ago and my kids were bouncing off the walls. Eating outside lowers the pressure of dining with your kids.

Fun fact. This restaurant was for whatever reason programed into my phone as a preferred location and still automatically shows up as a destination when I pull up maps on my phone.

As much as I love planning our vacations, sometimes the unexpected moments make the best memories.

Here in Galveston, I did discover that they had a free ferry. I had the genius idea to park our van and become pedestrians on this ferry. This guaranteed us on the next ferry with no wait. Again, this was FREE. We took the ferry to wherever it drops you off and then hung out there for awhile before taking it back to Galveston.

This seems super simple, but is something my kids are still talking about.

It is totally random that our beach here is the same as my maiden name. I'm all about family heritage, but as far as I know, there is zero connection here with my family.

While a day at the beach is great any time of year, there's something special about a winter beach vacation. Specifically, this was winter break three years ago and crowds and prices were both ultra low and the weather was perfect.

Hello!

Let's chat about what happens at the end of your cruise.

This is one of the most depressing things, but it's important to be prepared. You'll receive a handful of luggage tags with a character on it. If you want your bags taken off the ship for you for disembarkment, you'll want to have them packed up and in the hallway outside your stateroom before 10pm on that last night, with these tags on them. Packing is not the best way to spend your last night on ship, but it'll save you from lugging the bags around in the morning. Strive to have as much of your bags checked as possible.

Then in the morning, you'll be left with just a few carry on items to take with you to breakfast.

Happy Sunday!

One of my kids' favorite travel traditions is trying local foods. Even though we aren't big fast food people, when we can match fast food with a special location, we love it! For instance, here we're in Louisiana and grabbed Popeyes for lunch. The kids laughed when I asked for some honey for our biscuits and they gave my hot sauce. Also, last year we were in Kentucky and had KFC one night.

It might seem silly, but these types of things really make great memories.

Also, the last picture here is what my husband sent me on this day. While I actually do really love winter, I equally love traveling out of the season.

As much as I loved our private verandah with our stateroom, I'm pretty sure that my favorite spot on the Fantasy was deck 4's promenade. This deck not only have a walking/jogging path, but loung chairs and shuffleboard. We played shuffleboard a handful of times and my kids have all said that they want to play more shuffleboard on our next cruise.

While we focused on the Broadway style shows, we did really like the percussion show. Always keep an eye out on the navigator app to see what's in store in the night. I love the headline Broadway shows, but this was fun to not have to show up super early and relax with the more low key show. This was an ultra fun way to unwind after a day in port [my birthday!] before dinner. These guys are an international group and it was fun to see them throughout the boat in the days following the show.

Here in the DCL atrium, you'll find live entertainment and character meets, plus shopping, dining, midship dective agency, and more all packed into this space. This is definitely the place to be in the evenings during your cruise. Speaking of mid ship detective agency, the birthday girl and I were just talking about this last night and regrets missing that with us last time and wants to make sure to do it with us next time. Mid ship detective agency is not just for little kids. There are multiple levels with a hundred different mysteries to solve so you will not have the same mystery twice.
