Words to any new potential buyer from Dragonflyvans.
I’m not exactly sure yet. I know River Room, for the most part, is spoken for. It is the least expensive van I’ll be selling in the foreseeable future. Until I make a decision on which other vans I’ll let go, will I know what I’ll ask for them. As far as value/cost, the best I can do is have you shop nationally for what your after and recognize what people are asking for them, and who is asking those prices. I am not a private owner who might be semi mechanically aware and who needs to sell their van. My best buyer is someone who really really wants one and has been looking for awhile, has shopped diligently to know the market, has probably seen a few already, maybe driven some already, and understands the investment and growing value of this kind of investment. The downside of buying from someone like me is I’ve made a life out of knowing, understanding and physically working on/restoring these things. For what it’s worth, almost everybody wants a VW camper, there is a reason for that. There is a reason nearly every outdoor related company is using the iconic VW camper for marketing tool. They provide something no other vehicle in history can. Until you actually own one you can’t understand it. Blah blah. I know you’ve got van on the brain, it happens and I understand it. My guess is you probably went shopping and found out people get a lot of f’n money for them these days. I get that too. The only thing I can tell you is with Dragonflyvans your buying a fairly valued classic vehicle that has not been molested and kept in factory/OEM condition as any true collectible classic should be kept. This is precisely the difference between a DFVans camper and almost everything else out there today. So many vans have been irreversibly modified at this point that they no longer enjoy the future increasing value of a true collectible. Whomever buys any of my vans will understand why this particular point is so important. Often times folks don’t/can’t arrive at this perspective without shopping for a few years. Anyhoo....just for giggles you might find it interesting to know that the Kelley Blue Book value guide has 1986-7 Westfalia Wolfsburg Weekenders, in a 10/10 condition, at $50k a copy, that is not what I will be asking of course, but you need to understand the trend and why a factory unmolested VW camper, like what I have, is an investment and why I’ve spent so much time and effort keeping mine in the conditions they are in. ....,.many words....blah blah blah....
