Let’s take a walk through the apple orchard at Majestic Farm Heritage.
After grabbing a coffee we make our way to The road to the farm is lined with trees turning vibrant colors, creating the feeling of driving through a portal. Fall in Mountain Dale has been phenomenal. Some years, it seems to end in the blink of an eye, but not this one. For the last two weeks, each day has been perfect - warm during the day and cool at night. Perfect bon fire and sweater weather without feeling stuck in the house.
After checking in and grabbing our empty apple bag, we headed down to the orchard, passing grazing chickens, peach trees, campers, and even a waterfall. Finally, we arrived at the rows of apple trees. I beelined toward the Ida Reds, knowing these apples are destined for pies, while the rest of my group wandered up and down the rows, sampling to find their favorite flavors. It’s hard to choose just one variety, so most bags end up with a delicious assortment. We’ll sort through them later, pining over each one and trying to remember which is which. Maybe we’ll even set up an apple-tasting flight. It’s a fun problem, not knowing exactly which apple is which but discovering the variety of flavors and sweetness they hold. I look forward to this day every year.
I love when other visitors want to chat and talk about their lives. It’s great to connect about the things we love.
With our bags full, we made our way back to the car, but not without stopping to say hello to all the pigs. Then, it was back through the portal and on our way home.
