Here's a quick run down of this weekend's events -
➡Friday @ 7pm & Saturday @ 2pm - 'The Birth of Motown' Musical Theater Camp Performances. Presented by Thomas Persons Hall and the Jasper County Historical Foundation. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
➡Saturday 8am - 2pm - Monticello Market on the Square - RAIN OR SHINE! Vendor map is attached.
➡Saturday 11am - 7pm - Blaque Butterfly at Reese Hall hosts the 2nd annual Smoke Over Monticello event - a bbq-style cookoff with samples, vendors, music and more! Taste tickets are $10, entry to the venue is free. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local non-profits.

See parts of the water you've never seen before when you venture out with the Jackson Lake Association to Ride the River with new friends! Scheduled for July 20 & August 10, bring your personal water craft and explore the rivers that feed Jackson Lake. And after, meet up with your new friends for a lunch at one of the marinas and still have time to enjoy more on your Saturday! July 20th and August 10th
Jackson Lake Association coordinates this Free Event for PWC owners to come together and ride our scenic rivers. Meet new neighbors who share your passion; it's like a "motorcycle gang on water!"

🕙 When: Gather at Lloyd Shoals Dam 9:45-10:00 a.m.. Ride for approx. 1.5 hours then get together to dine and bond at a local marina afterwards!

Don't forget that this Friday & Saturday you can come out and enjoy the concert performed by the participants of this year's Musical Theater Camp. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door on Friday & Saturday.
Friday's performance starts at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm. Come out and dance in your seat, sing along and pick out your favorite familiar faces in the cast & crew. This year's theme is the 'Birth of Motown' and it's sure to be a crowd pleaser! Tickets are on sale now at the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce and Thomas Persons Hall. Here's your weekend event update!

➡Monticello Market on the Square is Satuday, from 8am-2pm. Gardens have started producing and farmers have started harvesting - come check out the selections from several vendors.
➡The Jackson Lake Association's Annual Poker Run begins at 11am.
➡MKR Monticello Kart Racing is hosting Scout's Day at the track in the evening, admission is $10 and gates open at 4pm.

The Annual Deer Festival is our largest local event of the year - and we need your help! We are accepting submission for t-shirt designs for the 58th Annual Deer Festival and 27th Annual Deer Dash. Rules for submissions are on the flyer in the original post. Submit your art to the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce by close of business (4pm) on July 8, 2024.

Don't forget to submit your t-shirt designs!
Deadline is Monday, July 8, 2024 and submissions should be turned in to Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce by close of business (4pm) that day. Rules & guidelines are on the attached flyer. We can't wait to see what you create!

SATURDAY:

➡️The Jackson Lake Association's annual Poker Run - pickups begin at 11am.

There's so much going on this weekend! The weather is going to be beautiful - come out and soak up some sun & fun at these events!
➡️Monticello Market on the Square from 8am - 2pm, with special guests Miss Rodeo USA, Kaelanne Quinonez & Rodeo Clown Mike Wentworth. You can also stay and watch the Juneteenth Parade that will be traveling through the square at 12pm.
➡️The Shady Dale Rodeo with events tonight & Saturday night, start your weekend early! Events begin at 8pm.
➡️The Shady Dale Roundup Festival is scheduled for Saturday, 10am - 4pm on Old School Street, with parade scheduled for 3pm.
➡️There will be another yard sale at the American Legion Post 110, Monticello, Ga on Saturday, 8am - 1pm.
➡️The third annual Juneteenth Celebration is set for Saturday at Funderburg Park, with a Walk-a-thon scheduled for 7:30am and Parade scheduled for 12pm. The park will have a variety of vendors, food and entertainment.
➡️The Jasper County Humane Society has organized a benefit ride, beginning at 10am. Beginning location & registration will be held at Ingles, located on Hwy 16 West just out of town. Ending location is 5 O'clock Sports Bar & Grill in Covington.

➡️Start your weekend fun early with the 🐎SShady Dale Rodeo🐂, starting on Friday night with events beginning at 8pm. Located at the Shady Dale Rodeo Grounds, about 8 miles N of Monticello on Hwy 83, and a half mile south of the intersection of Hwy 142 & 83. The Shady Dale Rodeo, now over 40 years running, is presented by Masonic Lodges Walton #200 and Jasper #50. The Shady Dale Rodeo is a IPRA sanctioned professional rodeo event produced by Southern Rodeo Company. It has been voted the #️⃣1️⃣Outdoor Rodeo in the Southeast many times. The Shady Dale Rodeo is put on by an all volunteer crew of local Masons, Shriners, and other citizens of the surrounding area. In addition to the rodeo action you can enjoy a full line of concessions including pit cooked barbecue, burgers & hot dogs and fresh baked goods.
➡️On Saturday, get ready for another day of rodeo fun with the Shady Dale Roundup Festival from 10-4 on old School Street. There will be vendors, food, crafts and more! Rodeo Parade is scheduled for 3pm. After the fun of the day, take a break and join us again for the Rodeo, with events starting at 8pm, just as the sun goes down and the dust starts flying. Don't miss this time honored tradition!

Gear up for some flower power this Friday night, June 7, as the Vintage Vixens take you back in time to the music of the ‘60s and ‘70s when the all-female band takes the stage on the historic square in downtown Gainesville for the second installment of the 2024 First Friday Concert Series.

The Annual Shady Dale Rodeo will be in town on Friday & Saturday- one of the best in Georgia, with the Shady Dale Roundup Festival on Saturday from 10am - 4pm.
The Jasper County Humane Society is hosting a fundraiser benefit ride on Saturday.
The NEW Juneteenth Walk-a-thon will take place at 7:30 AM, followed by vendors & events at Funderburg Park, with the Annual Juneteenth Parade through town at 12pm.

MKR Monticello Kart Racing hosts the National Lawn Mower Racing Championships, and offers concessions Friday night and food trucks on Saturday! Gates open at 5pm, races start at 7pm.
➡Saturday -
8am - 2pm - Monticello Market on the Square with storytime by 10am & 12noon.
8am - 1pm - Rummage Sale & Blackstone Grill Raffle at American Legion Post 110.
9:45am - Paddle the Alcovy River with the Jackson Lake Association and then head over to the 212 or Kersey Bridge for some free ice cream!
