Today we have a big announcement for our 2025 Women's Connection conference! We are excited to share that our keynote speaker for this event will be author and professor Amy-Jill Levine!

Amy-Jill (“AJ”) is Rabbi Stanley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace and University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies Emerita and Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies Emerita, at Vanderbilt. He publications include The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus and Short Stories by Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi, among many others.

Over one month of work on Lake Susan and good progress continues to be made! Everything is moving along according to plan and we are on target to complete the dredging by the end of the year. 🛶

We are now accepting reservations for the Montreat Family Campground's 2025 season!

Thankfully, the campground sustained minimal damage during Hurricane Helene, with the most major impact being damage to roads leading up to the campground. We are grateful that this reality allows us to get the campground back up and running as we normally would in 2025!

Announcing a new employment opportunity at Montreat Conference Center!

This position is responsible for the organization and direction of various Montreat-created programs, working with other program staff to ensure event success. Specifically, this position currently oversees our Thriving Congregations initiative, summer Clubs, childcare, and recreation programs, Summer Staff, and College Conference @ Montreat.

It's time to share the answer to another question we've been hearing as people prepare to attend College Conference @ Montreat. The Manna Retreat, and Montreat Youth Conference. Today, we are addressing concerns about what happens to your registration fee if an event needs to be canceled.

We currently see no reason that our 2025 events will not happen as scheduled. However, in the event that a conference needs to be canceled, you will be given the option to receive a refund or apply your refunded amount toward a future conference.

Our second week of work on Lake Susan included a little bit of snow, but that didn't keep crews from working! The lakebed is already starting to look more even as sediment continues to be removed.

In the midst of tragedy, nature's beauty persists. 🦌 Today, we began the process of renovating our beloved Lake Susan. Prior to Hurricane Helene, we were already preparing to dredge the lake (thanks in large part to a grant from the State of North Carolina). We give thanks that this allowed us to quickly begin needed restoration following the storm. Significant sediment had already accumulated in the lakebed due to years of erosion upstream, but the effects of the hurricane and subsequent flooding more than doubled the sediment that needs to be removed.
