Families with special needs members may be faced with frequent medical care needs resulting in added and unexpected costs. Dealing with these financial burdens can make an already difficult situation even more challenging. AFAS provides financial help when the family has medical or other needs not fully covered or not covered by TRICARE.

OSD is offering online ASL I and II for this fall semester again! It's FREE! It is for anyone who want to learn ASL to be able to communicate with a Deaf person.

The registration for Online ASL Classes for ASL I and II is now open until September 30th. The Online ASL Classes for ASL I and II will begin on September 16th and continue until December 30th. These classes are non-credit level courses. This is a "go at your own pace" class.

Do you know a youth willing to voice their opinion(s) in efforts to improve the overall state of health for youth in Georgia? Children’s Medical Services (CMS) is pleased to invite youth to participate in the first ever Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The goals of the YAC are to learn STEPS to manage their own healthcare, develop leadership skills, engage with the community and peers through outreach, and partner with CMS on youth focused activities related to health care transition. CMS is looking for 14 youth and young adults from across the state, ages 14-21, with varying backgrounds and abilities, who will come together 1x/month virtually for two hours. This council will run from September-April with recurring time and date to be determined after first meeting. There will also be a chair and co-chair position available for those who may want additional responsibility or experience. Participants will be incentivized quarterly, via a gift card, for their monthly participation and attendance.
