What is your favorite activity for your clients to experience?

"I love Sheldrick Animal Orphanage in Kenya. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has successfully rehabilitated and reintegrated hundreds of elephants back into the wild. The trust rescues baby elephants that have lost their mothers due to poaching, drought, human-wildlife conflict, or natural causes. The calves are cared for at the Nairobi Nursery, where they receive round-the-clock care, including special milk formulas, until they are strong enough to be reintroduced into the wild. They also rescue orphaned rhinos, rehabilitate injured animals, and provide veterinary care to wildlife in distress. The trust operates anti-poaching teams, aerial surveillance, and works with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to combat illegal wildlife activities. They engage with local communities to promote human-wildlife coexistence, offering conservation education programs.

The nursery is open to the public for one hour daily (11 AM - 12 PM), where visitors can watch baby elephants being fed and playing in the mud. You can also foster an elephant through their adoption program, which helps support the care of rescued elephants. If you haven't visited it yet, it's a must do while visiting Kenya."

In the past few months, we’ve witnessed some incredible strides in rhino conservation! Two major relocation efforts are giving these animals a fighting chance:

In Rwanda, Akagera National Park is welcoming 70 southern white rhinos from South Africa — the largest rhino relocation in history. These rhinos will be closely monitored and protected in a safe habitat where they can thrive.

In Kenya, 21 critically endangered eastern black rhinos are being moved to Segera Conservancy, helping to strengthen genetic diversity and increase their numbers.

Thanks to these efforts and the teams on the ground making it happen! Conservation works, and we can’t wait to see how these new chapters unfold.

What’s your favorite season to travel to Africa and why?

“I love the Green Season or the beautiful season. In Southern Africa this is generally the rainy season and from November through April.

Being the Beautiful Season means it really is pretty, lots of flowers around, the grasses and leaves are green, the sky lights up with lightning and you can hear big thunder cracks. It’s more difficult to find the animals, but it really is beautiful and you get to see other things; butterflies, tortoises, flowers, moths.”
