Emergency Watchmen: Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach $32/Hr +
To be considered for potential status as an "Emergency Watchman" in the Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach, send a white postcard, no larger than 4 inches by 6 inches (available at stationery stores and post offices) via first-class U.S. mail to:

Information MUST BE PRINTED in black or blue ink only. Your card must be post-marked no later than June 13, 2014.
Do not put your postcard into an envelope, and do not send a resume or any other information or documentation.
No drop-offs or personal deliveries will be accepted. Do not call us. All callers will be disqualified.
Only one card per person. Anyone submitting an untimely, duplicate, incorrectly sized, incorrect ink, insufficient information, illegible etc. card will be disqualified.
A random drawing will be held on or about July 8, 2014. A list of those selected for potential processing toward Emergency Watchman status in the drawing will be posted for thirty days at the Pacific Maritime association Long Beach office.
Individuals chosen in the drawing are not guaranteed employment but will be advised of additional requirements in order to apply, currently envisioned to include, without limitation:
(1) A valid California driver's license with photograph
(2) California Guard Card or proof of completion of all 5 GC courses and submission to the BSIS for processing.
(3) CPR/First Aid certification
(4) Transportation Workers Identification Credential.
If offered processing, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, and eligible to work in the U.S. Submitting a postcard does not guarantee processing or employment. The procedures by which processing, and employment may be offered can be changed at any time and without notice at the discretion of the joint parties to the governing collective bargaining agreement. No phone calls, please. There is no fee or charge for applying and no money should be paid (including gifts and offerings of any kind) to any person or organization related to this recruitment program. The principal business of the Pacific Maritime association is to negotiate and administer maritime labor agreements with the International Long shore and Warehouse Union.
Starting pay is $32 - $38/hr. Full benefit/401K
