Fun fact for today: Sand dollars use their hair to eat! They activate the cilia to move food to their mouth which is located close to the low center of their bodies. They have jaws with 5 sections of essentially small teeth that grind plankton and other foods. It can take 15 minutes for them to "swallow" and up to 48 hours to completely digest their food.

Did you know Sand Dollars don't just use their "hair" to move around but also to eat!! When sand dollars eat, they activate their cilia, or hair, to move food to their mouths. Even crazier, sand dollars have jaws with five sections of what are essentially small teeth, which can easily grind up plankton and other food. Check out this sand dollar moving along the sand!

Our local, knowledgeable captains will take passengers on a narrated tour through the beautiful waters of the Crystal Coast. This tour passes by many places such as Sugarloaf Island, Fort Macon, and even the beautiful, historic Beaufort Waterfront!
