My new house has a lilac bush, a flowering cherry tree, and a vigorous wisteria vine (not flowering this year, but hopefully next!). This yard is going to be my first project! 🙌

I am no longer an innkeeper. No more cottage. No more chickens. No more beautiful garden. Fig Leaf Farm is now in the hands of new owners (who have decided not to continue the rental business). For the last 6 weeks I have struggled with this change in my identity. But I have big plans for our new home. I hope you will continue to follow along as I create a new haven for our family. 💕 Goodbye, Fig Leaf Farm.

I wanted a pop of color on the doors when we were getting ready to list the house. I saw the doors on front doors and knew that Lemon Twist was it! They are definitely bright 😎 but they are so cheerful that I can’t help but smile each time I see them. I wish I had done it sooner! 💛

A little mama bird hatched the sweetest pair of babies in my birdhouse. I took a peek at them while mama was out getting food. Aren’t they just the cutest?!

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around this, but...we are selling Fig Leaf Farm. Even though we have found something that is a better fit for our family, it still hurts to leave this beautiful place. 💕😭

In July, HGTV came to Fig Leaf Farm and filmed an episode of “My Lottery Dream Home” with host, David Bromstad, in our little cottage. Our episode airs tonight! So check your local listings for episode 8, “Moving on Up in California”. (No, we didn't win the lottery. They used the Cottage as a film set.)
