When traveling I always stay at a resort I have not stayed in or one I haven’t stayed in in awhile because it keeps my knowledge fresh. I’ve always loved Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Studios Orlando for its value. I must admit I’m a sucker for the retro vibe too. It’s modeled off my favorite era so this is a repeat resort for me.
Things I love:
🚗The old Woody (and other cars up front)
🎼 The lobby music! It’s my jam
🎳The bowling alley
🌊The lazy river
☕️Starbucks in the lobby
🌋The location close to Volcano Bay (some rooms overlook it!)
🍫S’mores kits for roasting over the fire pits
I’ll be honest the room is basic, but it was spacious and clean.
It’s a great option for a family on a budget.
And the chicken parm was cooked to perfection in a brick oven in front of me. For a rained out meal ark night it was just what I needed!! I took it back to my room and watched the rain coming down.

My final room. I’m going to leave this resort kicking and screaming. By the way, I recorded this video as my first walk-through, which is never a good idea, so I have to share one thing that I did not articulate in the video, and that is a story…
So I’m not going to lie it’s hotter than Hades in the DR in June and I take several showers a day so when I got to my room that was the first thing I wanted to do. I walked into the shower and I had to walk back out and go get my glasses because I cannot see a thing without my glasses. Why did I have to walk out and get my glasses you ask? Because there was no place to turn on the water from. Come to find out there was a pin pad on the wall and everything was electronic. Like I could pick where the water came from, I could pick the water temperature… I literally just had to press power and figure it all out. Like, how stinking cool is that? Except of course if you wear glasses. 😅😇🤣🤓 Again they will remove me kicking and screaming from this bougie life…😍🥰

I kid you not it was tortoise apocalypse when we walked in with carrots. They literally all came at us like a bunch of little (and not so little) zombies.
Delilah and I enjoyed a nice breakfast together almost every morning. Literally passersby would ask for the keeper to place Delilah on their arm for some photos and she would keep coming back to me. He kept saying, “I don’t know she likes the lady “ Same, girl, same!! 🥰🦜

How can you even say you’ve experienced a country unless you get off resort property and truly EXPERIENCE it?! That’s what Life’s Little Adventures is truly about…LIVING, EXPERIENCING. Getting out to a spot packed with tourists and locals alike, listening to a traditional steel drum band🪘while eating BBQ cooked right in front of you and watching the sun set 🌅 over the harbor ⛵️ is a pretty good start, don’t you think?!
