A photo by visitor Gordon Grisinger, of Boston MA, has been selected to illustrate the 2024 Acadia Annual Pass.

It's available for purchase at park visitor centers and campgrounds, as well as the Acadia Regional Chamber at Thomson Island, and the Bar Harbor, Ellsworth and Southwest Harbor chambers of commerce.

The Acadia Annual Pass is valid only at Acadia and may be purchased online or in person for $70. It is valid for 12 months from purchase month. This pass admits the pass holder and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle. You do not need to buy an additional entrance pass if you already have a federal lands pass.

This is an early closure for the carriage trails, hoping that means an early spring! (oh...and a summer that isn't all rain this year would be great too!!!)

An earlier spring thaw has led to earlier closures to protect Acadia's historic carriage roads during "mud season" in Maine. Walking, bicycling or riding horses on them in these wet and soft conditions can cause significant damage.

Effective Fri Mar 8, all public entry and use of the carriage road system is prohibited until further notice.
