🗣 Applications are now being accepted for the Spring 2025 Retail Lab Boot Camp—a six-week program tailored to address the complex nature of starting and operating a retail establishment.

Applications are due by February 24, 2025, at midnight.

Graduates from the program have an opportunity to pitch for a $2,500 micro-grant through the Flywheel Foundation and will receive a 3-month Flywheel Coworking membership including space use at the Cabarrus Center, amenities, and member benefits.

Museum Monday from our friends at the Eastern Cabarrus Historical Society

A few months ago we received a Mont Amoena Memory Book from a descendant of Annie Walker Penninger, class of 1926. It included this photo of Annie and her classmates taken after a history exam under teacher Lisette Clayton Bernheim Hood (in the center of the photo). We're so thankful when people share these wonderful historic artifacts with us! Photo identification (in Annie's own hand) in the comments.

Throwback Thursday
This photo is on the inside cover of the George F. McAllister School PTA record book from September 1, 1940 to April 7, 1941. The name "Rev. W.S. Gerhardt" is on the front cover. The population for the Town of Mount Pleasant is shown as 1,014. The NC Office of State Budget & Management 2023 Certified Population Estimate for the town limits population is 1,758. That means the Town of Mount Pleasant has added an average of about 9 people per year for the last 82 years. Three zoning permits were issued for new homes in the town limits in 2024. So the population within the Town limits will have grown by approximately 8 people within the last year.

Happy New Year!! 2025 is here and we are ready to kick off spring registration⚾️🥎

-Visit mpdyb.com to register your player(s). Please make sure to register before February 14th to avoid late registration fees.

-In person registration dates are Friday February 7th 5:30-7pm and Saturday February 8th 9-11am. Both days registration will be held at McAllister field Concessions.

-We offer age divisions from Tball to 16/18 baseball, 13/15 softball.

-If you or someone in your household is interested in coaching, helping with concessions or becoming an umpire please visit mpdyb.com to sign up under the blue google doc links listed on the home page.

-Our new complex is OPEN and we will be holding all of our games at the new fields in conjunction with McAllister field for the older age groups.

-Most of the younger age division games will be played on our new fields at Virginia Foil Park located at 1111 N. Washington Street, Mt Pleasant, NC 28124.

-Our young adults will play on our larger field at McAllister Park behind Town Hall on Park Drive in Mt Pleasant.
