WOW! This complete deck remodel from Island Deck and Rail LLC is insane! After starting, the crew discovered rot that would make it too unsafe to leave the existing framework, so they had to start from scratch. Now that the customers have new framing and a deck built with Deckorators Voyage decking in Sierra with Picture Framing in Dark Slate, they're set for a looonnggg time!

"Our biggest project yet! A complete transformation of both deck and railing. We started on demolition and found more rot than expected. For safety reasons alone we needed to reframe and tear out a substantial amount. We ended up replacing all the wood railings with powder coated aluminum railings and stainless steel cables paired with composite decking & fascia to extend the life of the deck as well as create a modern look, eliminating the good amount of view obstruction they had in the existing railing.
The decking chosen is from Deckorators featuring their Dark Slate picture frame & fascia w/ Sierra decking as well as Dark Slate stair treads. We have to shout out Sound Cedar Lumber for the amazing customer service and availability they have to answer any questions we had right away and problem solve any worries we had along the way. These guys are very knowledgeable & professional. With good prices as well in this market you can’t beat em! Check them out today!
The railings we have shown here is our powder coated aluminum railings from our railing and cable supplier Coastal Cable. This is Black XLSQ Excell Railings, side mounted with stainless steel cable. Sleek and very low maintenance, this is the way to go! No more rot in your wooden railings!

Last Friday, Robert, Nathan, James, and some of their family and friends went out to Bertelsen Winery to cheer on our friend Dakota from Neucon Construction, LLC. It was a great night at a great event with great people and amazing music! We knew Dakota was talented on the job site, but wait until you hear him with a microphone and guitar!

There are so many events happening at Bertelsen this summer - make sure you check them out. Maybe we will see you there!

The Engle Heritage Homestead is a historic farmstead located on Whidbey Island. It has been home to SEVEN generations of original Whidbey Settlers, including David Engle and his family (shown in the photo with his daughters.)

We are so honored that they trusted us when it came to buying the shingles to re-roof the milk house on the historic property. Preserving buildings as old as these requires quality materials, and we only offer the best!
