Rest in Peace Sweet River
The weather is fitting for our mood today. It is raining and dreary and so it is in our hearts also. We said goodbye today to the BEST TREEHOUSE DOG EVER...River.
All dogs are special and bring so much joy to our lives but I know that anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with River would certainly say that she was extra special. She was kind and gentle and her soul was visible in those big brown eyes.
River belonged to Stacy Backman and his daughter Michalia who live next door, but she would visit the treehouses on a daily basis. River and her little buddy Sadie would roam the woods together every day. Sadie is a Treeing Fiest and she taught River how to tree squirrels. When River was younger she was happy loping along and running around as young dogs do but as she got older she would be following our cars in and out of the treehouse and she would catch a glimpse of something moving in the woods and off she would go! She’d make a hard turn into the woods and we knew she was onto something. One evening while sitting around the fire with some friends who came in from Columbia, River was sitting at my feet, leaning on my legs just as content as could be and all the sudden she popped her nose straight up into the air and she tore off into the woods like a rocket. I believe sh
