The Greater Munising Bay Partnership/Alger County Chamber of Commerce will once again be awarding a $500 scholarship to an Alger County resident.

This $500 scholarship is offered to a resident of any age and educational endeavor planning to attend a higher education program or institution.

New Parking Rules!

New this year the road around our headquarters will be closed during school hours so the City of Munising has agreed to plow the parking lot 2 blocks east of our headquarters. Please consider car pooling or walking to Ice Fest Headquarters

*No Parking at Mather School during school hours

*Cars left in the school parking lot overnight will be ticketed or towed

*Due to the amount of snow Munising has, there is no parking on any city street from 3am-6am to accomodate snowplows

*Altran is the public transportation so if you would like an inexpensive ride from your hotel to headquarters you can contact them here

Let's give a shout out to our new member Grand Marais Tavern Flynn's Grand Marais Tavern is open year-round for lunch and dinner with a full bar. Want to go and see ice formations in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore?

tis the season for ✨ ice ✨

With the colder temps we've had over the past few weeks, our ice formations have been coming in strong! We've been seeing ice climbers and sightseers alike enjoying the ice 😊

Want to see these formations for yourself? The most easily accessed formations are just off of Sand Point Road. Park at the Marsh Trail parking area and walk about a half mile up the road towards the Munising Falls Visitor Center. There is no parking on Sand Point Road itself.

To your left, there will be several small brown signs with formation names on them. Following the footpaths up the bluff will take you to these formations! As always, use caution while hiking, some areas can be steep, slippery, or wet. Traction devices on your footwear are recommended!

Looking to get involved with this year's races but not sure how? We have a plethora of volunteer opportunities for you to choose from, both indoors or outside. From helping set up the races to assisting with dog handling to working checkpoints or merch booths, there is something for everyone!
