Murrieta Field of Honor

Murrieta Field of Honor An awe-inspiring, emotion-filled patriotic experience. 2,024 American flags fly November 9-16th! It’s a week to pay honor and express thanks!

Murrieta's awe-inspiring, emotion-filled patriotic event, the Field of Honor, flies for the 16th year Nov. 9th-16th when hundreds of folks from the region recognize their personal heroes with a flag. More than 2,000 full-sized American flags will be set up in perfect rows and columns for the week-long event that also features a number of other activities. And it’s also a time to educate—visitors t

o the Field gain knowledge about American history. We learn about our country’s flags and its highest military honor. The Murrieta Rotary club, a local group of some 50 active members, started the project in 2009 as a community service to honor those who have been heroes in our lives. Many are military veterans and first-responders, but more also are grandparents, favorite teachers and even some organizations, whomever a sponsor wishes to recognize. Rotary is flying 2,024 flags this fall, which will fill much of Town Square Park, located in the civic hub of the city of Murrieta, surrounded by city hall, the police station, library and senior center. The flag display and activities are open to the public and free for all. Field hours are 9am-5pm daily during the week of the event. The Field of Honor is presented as a tribute to SERVICE ABOVE SELF by the Rotary Club of Murrieta and Rotary Club of Old Town Temecula, in partnership with the City of Murrieta. All net proceeds from this annual event fund many community and international service projects organized by Rotary.

Until we see you again November 2025. It was an amazing week. Field of Honor ❤️♥️❤️

Visiting Murrieta Field of Honor there is more than the impressive 2024 flags flying. There are different stations to visit: Murrieta Through Time, Historic United States Flags, 50 State Flags, Local Heroes, War Memorials and Obelisk, Vollbrecht Rotary Chalk Walk, 9/11 Rock Garden Memorial and Medal of Honor. 5th graders from the Murrieta School district make field trips here to visit each station and learn about Patriotism.

Our Story

Murrieta Rotary’s awe-inspiring, emotion-filled patriotic event, the Field of Honor, flies for the 12th year, Nov. 7-14 2020, when hundreds of folks from the region recognize their personal heroes with a flag. More than 2,000 full-sized American flags will be set up in perfect rows and columns for the week-long event that also features a number of other activities. We learn about our country’s flags, its highest military honor, its war dead. The Rotary club, a local group of some 50 active members, started the project in 2009 as a community service to honor those who have been heroes in our lives. Many are military veterans and first-responders, but more also are grandparents, favorite teachers and even some organizations, whomever a sponsor wishes to recognize.
