Just gonna leave this here.

An RV is a recreational vehicle, and that means that travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and motor coaches are ALL under the RV category. Knowing the difference helps you, the renter, and the owner when communicating.

A TRAVEL TRAILER is towed behind a vehicle, via hitch and ball. They can be small and light or heavy and long- knowing your tow capacity will help decide what length and weight of a trailer you can pull.

A TOY HAULER is an RV that is designed to hold “toys” such as a golf cart, off road vehicles and the like. These can be travel trailers or fifth wheels as well.

A FIFTH WHEEL is towed in a truck bed, via 5th wheel hitch. These are generally longer and larger than travel trailers and can often ALSO be a toy hauler.

A MOTORCOACH is a RV that you can drive- and there are defined classes of coaches that help divide them by size. Certain motorcoaches require special licenses, specifically if they are over a certain length.

Sooooooo, when you say- “I’m looking to rent an RV”, remember the differences and hone in on what you’re really wanting, so that you utilize your time efficiently and communicate effectively.

Thinking of buying an RV? (Hint: So is everyone else). Here’s a few things to know before you buy!

Much like the current housing market, inventory is slim and demand is high.

Sticker prices can be SCARY. Negotiating right now will be challenging, but not impossible. The rule of thumb (from our three purchases) is to pay about 20% less than sticker price. Search a model you like online for competitive prices and use your data at the dealership.

Read the fine print on extended warranties and see what is actually being covered. Sometimes, it’s worth the extra dough.

Trailers are NOT made like they used to be- your new “toy” is fragile and will show wear and tear QUICKLY if you’re not gentle. Be gentle.
