Rooted in Nature Art As long as I can remember, I have been drawn to spending as much time in nature as possible. There is so much for the senses to experience.

As an artist, I look at all the fine details and am in awe of how God created it all - and I have to draw it! Marie has been a fine artist for many years and has painted pet portraits, wildlife art, drawings with pencil, pastel and colored pencils, watercolor, window paintings on businesses, wall murals, temporary tattoos with henna or a temporary ink, and full face painting. All with a realistic

style.So you could say she's almost done it all. And now she is making unique and dynamic paintings using alcohol ink. And she can't stop making paintings - they are so much fun!

Are you ready to get creative again? We had some positive responses regarding acrylic "paint pouring" on vases and ornaments, so we're going to do another one! It will be November 7, 6:00-9:00pm at New Era Reformed Church Fellowship Hall. We will have options for you of what you'd like to try. I also have ten 6" ceramic Christmas trees ordered. They have been fired and will not have the holes in them for the lights (I didn't think that would work well with paint pouring). These will cost and additional $5 and will be first come/first serve. If you'd like one, let me know and I'll put you on the list. You may still do ornament(s) and vase. Fee will still be $25 for the basic. If you have a special vase of your own you can bring that along. We're looking forward to this - it will be the last one until next spring. Contact me personally or on this post if you'd like to save a spot. See you soon!

This Thursday, August 8, I will have a bunch of my artwork for sale. Since I’ve been playing with lots of different mediums, you will see Pastel, Scratchboard, Watercolor, Alcohol Ink, Fiber Arts, and Nature Journaling - yeah, I think that’s enough - ha! Please come to Whitehall at Sylvan Beach at their Wabaningo Club - 5977 Murray Rd. AND I will be teaching this awesome mushroom painting in acrylic. I managed to get the look of oil paints on this one - wouldn't you agree? But you can paint yours any colors you want - even some fantasy colors - because it's YOUR art!

Who's ready to paint again? We've got plans for Thursday, September 14th, 1:00-4:00 pm, New Era Reformed Church Fellowship Hall. As usual, cost is only $25.00 and all supplies will be provided, but bring your own paint shirt/apron if desired. We'll be painting on 8" x 10" canvas in a traditional manner - with Marie Essenberg teaching/leading us along. Here is a picture of the subject. This time she will be teaching us a more realistic style of painting, introducing lighting effects and how light and dark areas play off each other for a more dramatic look.
