Myrtle Beach’s “umbrellas-only” rule takes effect Memorial Day, which is Monday, May 29. The policy was created in 2014 when tents and other large shading devices became so plentiful at peak times and locations that they blocked access and visibility to the water’s edge. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, only circular umbrellas up to seven-and-a-half feet in diameter are allowed on the beach. And they must be in-line-with or behind the established umbrella line. Other shading devices are not allowed during the peak summer months, with the exception of infant tents no larger than four feet wide by three feet deep and three feet high. The sun is shining and after assessing the property, we are happy to report there is no significant damage from Hurricane Ian to Broadway at the Beach!

We are very grateful and are sending our thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this storm.

Broadway at the Beach will follow normal hours today. Retail, 10am to 9pm, attraction, restaurant, entertainment and nightlife venue hours vary.

"I have stayed at many places over the years and this was by far the best! It was equipped with anything you would need from cooking to going to the beach. The decor was wonderful and the place was very clean. The owners checked on us during our stay to see if we needed anything. The views were perfect. I would highly recommend it! Will stay again."
