Hidden gem alert!

Located just a few miles south of the Grand Strand, the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge is one of our favorite spots to unwind. The area was established in 1997 to help protect diverse ecosystems while also providing wildlife-safe recreational activities like environmental education, wildlife spotting and photography.

The refuge also offers miles of nature trails, a mountain biking trail, a habitat for swallow-tailed kites and more than 200 other bird species.

Oyster season is about to begin at The Beach!

Whether raw or roasted, this is one of our favorite seafood seasons because oysters are so versatile and tasty. 😋 With several restaurants like Hook & Barrel, Dirty Don's Oyster Bar & Grill and Filet's Restaurant serving up delicious dishes and several oyster roasts taking place across our 60 miles, there's no shortage of places to enjoy these delicious mollusks.
