"When my dad called dibs on my guest bedroom for the eclipse like 6 months ago I didn’t think much of it, but I took PTO for the day to spend time with my fam.
Even up until this week I wasn’t sure if I was going to try to capture it but then I started having mad FOMO and ordered the only ND filters I could find with 2 day shipping and stacked three 8 stops together using cardboard and duck tape because you do what you gotta do for the shot 😂
Now all I can say is wow! Truly, I’m speechless. As much as it’s been described to me how this would go down, nothing can prepare you for the magic that takes place and no amount of pics can fully capture the experience, but I put together this little image stack to remember this by.
I realize it prob just looks like two black and white circles moving across each other, but if you look closely you’ll see red solar flares around the ring of the total eclipse and sun spots that just look like tiny dots on the sun.
Most importantly, I’m grateful I got to spend it with one’s I love and soak it in together, knowing so many other people collectively looked up in awe at the same spectacle.
I will truly chase this experience for the rest of my life!"

- drybag: the ones with backpack straps are the best (shown in video)
- waterproof sandals, like @teva (all I wore on the islands🏝️)
- debit card (you’d be surprised @ how many people forget lol)
- sarong: I mention this on every other episode of @ticket2anywherepodcast but you can use it as a towel, cover up, pillow, neck/headscarf, umbrella, etc
- sunscreen + hat 🧢 ultimate sun protection (don’t worry us darker folks will still get tan)
- reusable water bottle: Philippines has filtered water dispensers everywhere, whether in your accomm or on the streets you can pay a peso for!
- mosquito repellant 🚫🦟 IDC if it’s permethrin for your clothes, picardin, deet, tea tree oil.. you’ll need it all!
- waterproof phone pouch 📲 will keep your phone dry when capturing those unforgettable moments!
- power bank: you’d think this would be a no-brainer but there’s never enough reminders! There are some long van, bus, & ferry rides where you’ll want to keep charged 🔋
