Good afternoon to all our River Family and Friends,

As 2024 winds down, we want to take the time to say Thank you!! to everyone who supported our small business this year. We love what we do and we love sharing "the other side" of Myrtle Beach with all of our guests. We feel blessed to have met and to continue to call all those who return "friends".

We also wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to one and all. Our hope is that you and yours have a wonderful holiday and new year.

Speaking of 2025, our schedule is now posted and available for booking at www.waccamawrivertours.com

And by the way a ticket for a tour would make a great stocking stuffer or a little something under the tree, just in case you are still looking for that last minute gift. (wink, wink)

But no matter how you end up visiting us this coming season we really look forward to taking you on a fun, fact-filled, educational tour of our unique Blackwater Ecosystem. We promise you will have a great time.

With the warmest regards and wishes for a great new year,

Capt. Rick, Ms. Betty, Capt. Sid, Ms. Michele, Capt. Brian, Ms. Agnes and of course the fabulous and wonderful fur babies Bella, Gidgette, Darla and Bernie!!!

Look what Rick found!!!

Opheodrys aestivus, commonly known as the rough green snake, is a nonvenomous North American colubrid. It is sometimes called grass snake or green grass snake, but these names are more commonly applied to the smooth green snake (Opheodrys vernalis). The European colubrid called grass snake (Natrix natrix) is not closely related. The rough green snake is docile, often allowing close approach by humans, and seldom bites. Even when bites occur, they have no venom and are harmless.
