These little travelers need their space to rest, and wildlife experts will monitor them to ensure they’re safe.

🎣🐟 Did you know that Jennette's Pier offers family fishing classes? Sign up in advance and walk on over for a morning of fishing fun! 🌅✨

🗓️ When: June thru August
📅 Monday thru Friday
🕘 Classes start at 9 a.m.

Learn the basic skills necessary to catch a fish. Participants will learn how to cast, reel, and proper catch and release techniques. All bait, tackle, and rods are included in this two-hour lesson.

💰 Cost:

$20 per person (age 6 and up)
$10 per child (age 5 and under)

🛬🏖️ Looking for some time to kill before check-in? Check out these fabulous suggestions!

🛒 Target Run: Order ahead through the Target app for the Kill Devil Hills Target. Grab drinks, beach toys, snacks, and anything else you forgot to pack. It's conveniently located across from the new Wawa.

🌊 H2OBX Waterpark: Enjoy the wave pool, water slides, and lunch while waiting for check-in. It's a great way to beat the traffic and one of our favorite Saturday activities! Get there right when they open to grab great seats!

🏖️ Beach Stop: Can't wait to get in the water? Head to Jennette's Pier for free parking and easy beach access. The gift shop has drinks, snacks, and clean bathrooms. Across the street, there's a playground, and you can grab lunch at Dune Burger or Sam & Omie's until it is time to check in.

🐠 NC Aquarium: Visit the North Carolina Aquarium at Roanoke Island. Reserve your tickets online beforehand and spend a few hours enjoying indoor and outdoor activities. Afterwards, have lunch at one of Manteo's many great restaurants – El Shaddai Chicken.

Going to the Farmer's Market is one of our favorite things to do on Thursdays in the summer! There are always tons of great vendors with art, fresh meat and vegetables and baked goods. Plus, there is an awesome park for kids as well! Definitely add it to your list of things to do!i

🍣 Who doesn't love sushi? It's one of my favorites! If you're staying at Sea Salt Cottage and craving some sushi, check out these spots:

🍣Miller's Steak and Seafood House - Located at MP 9.5 on Beach Road. Trust me, try the Cheese Steak Roll! The Avalon Roll and Wanchese Roll are also fantastic. Plus, they have a full menu with plenty of options for non-sushi eaters. Don't miss out on their hush puppies - they come with your meal and they're so good!

🍣Basnight's Lone Cedar Grill - Located at 7623 S Virginia Dare Trl. Enjoy sushi in their lounge every Wednesday from 4:30-8pm. They even have unique rolls like the Buffalo Shrimp Roll! Have a drink and some sushi in the lounge before moving to the dining room for dinner. Plus it is very close to Sea Salt and has lovely views.

🍣Single Fin Thai and Sushi - Located at 2424 S Croatan Hwy. They offer Thai curries, noodles, vegan dishes, sushi and sashimi. Perfect for carryout if you want to enjoy your meal back at the cottage.

Keeper Mullet -- So far, small BLUEFISH and keeper SEA MULLET. Winds SE at 13 knots. Water temp 62 degrees. Small seas. Low tides 7:30 a.m. and 7:32 p.m. High tide1:20 p.m. Stephen Hayes and his daughter, Bristol, age 6 of Elizabeth City, caught this nice SEA MULLET yesterday.
