I was told the same thing as this article - that fresh eggs do not peel well. Well I have learned that if you steam the eggs (12 minutes for large eggs) and then cool immediately in an ice bath, even fresh eggs will peel easily.

The answer shocked me.

So we live near Buffalo but should have driven to Cleveland. There was a few breaks in the clouds. So I got a picture. Beautiful days on either side of the eclipse makes it a bit more frustrating.

Dear Friends,

As this rental season ends, we want to thank all of the people who have rented our house over the past 11 rental seasons. We know that some families have been to our house several years in a row. We are entering a new phase in our lives and will have more time to use it ourselves so we are taking it out of the rental program. We hope that you are able to find another house to rent that fits your needs.

Turn out the lights for the turtles. When we were down there was still 3 nests to hatch within walking distance from the house.

We have a favor to ask…

Now that our local sea turtle nests are starting to hatch, we would like to ask everyone staying in oceanfront properties to turn off any indoor or outdoor lights that may be visible from the beach. We are asking this favor because when the hatchlings emerge from their nests, they are very sensitive to light and can become disoriented and follow these residential lights up into the dunes, rather than head down into the ocean. So could you please help us ensure that all our local hatchlings safely make it into the ocean and turn off all outdoor lights on decks and pools, and close the blinds or drapes on all levels of your house after dark ?
