To all Dear Crawford Cottage Friends!

The Crawford family has sold this home to the Huber family and I couldn’t be more pleased because they value the charm and grace built in and vow to keep that with continue improvements. They will even be keeping the name, Crawford Cottage. Sandy Huber will be managing the property as well as reservations and we have successfully transferred our bookings for 2022. She will be a terrific host so you will all be in good hands.

Fascinating utube video on "The Graveyard of the Atlantic." There are so many shipwrecks right off our beach. If you want to visit one or two closest in, be sure to head out just before lowest tide, with your raft or surfboard, snorkel gear and always an extra buddy or two. Lots of fish to see!

Our pool finally got some wonderful elbow room!

Happy to announce, our CC pool area is finally getting a facelift and some elbow room! Now stairs (gate at top) will enter pool directly. Double shower and foot rinse added too.
Next improvement by May 1; steps to dune walk leading from rooftop deck closest to the ocean. More photos soon:)

Hello there Crawford Cottage friends!
Of course the Corona Virus is still out there, with about 50 folks infected since March, who have visited or reside on the Outer Banks. I hope every Crawford Cottage guest will do his/her part when in public, by wearing masks and washing hands.
Here from Dare County, a new announcement:

Face Coverings Must Be Worn In Indoor and Outdoor Public Spaces Where Social Distancing Cannot Be Maintained Beginning Sunday, June 21 at 9 a.m.

Dare County officials met Friday afternoon and have updated the Emergency Declaration for COVID-19 to include a mandate that face coverings be worn in indoor and outdoor public spaces where social distancing cannot be maintained. This measure becomes effective Sunday, June 21 at 9 a.m. To view the full order, click here.

The updated declaration covers all areas of Dare County including the towns of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manteo and the unincorporated areas of Dare County, including Hatteras Island and the Dare mainland.

This decision comes following discussion by officials regarding the current state guidelines that strongly encourage face coverings. Voluntary compliance with face covering recommendations has not been effective within Dare County and local business owners have requested a stronger tool for compliance.

There are some exceptions to the updated mandate including for those dining in a restaurant, for reasons related to medical or behavioral conditions, and for children under the age of 12. The complete list of exceptions is available here.

Wearing a face covering or mask in public when unable to social distance is crucial to maintaining the health and safety of the Outer Banks community. Keep in mind that there may be justifiable reasons some individuals are not wearing a mask or cloth face-covering in public. Please be kind, show compassion, and wear your mask to protect those who can't.
