Today, we join our Napa Valley community in celebrating Supervisors Ryan Gregory and Alfredo Pedroza for their remarkable leadership and heartfelt dedication to our region. Their tireless efforts in wildfire prevention, affordable housing, transportation, and preserving Napa’s agricultural beauty have left a lasting mark on our community. We are deeply grateful for their service and wish them all the best in their next chapters. Thank you, Ryan and Alfredo, for everything you’ve done for Napa County!
Today we celebrate outgoing Board Supervisors for District 2 Ryan Gregory and District 4 Alfredo Pedroza for their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the community. At today's Board meeting, the Board of Supervisors recognized both Gregory and Pedroza for their 18 years of dedicated public service to Napa County and their work on critical issues in the community from wildfire prevention to transportation and affordable housing.
Supervisor Ryan Gregory was elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2016, achieving a historic milestone as one of the few supervisors in County history to defeat an incumbent in an election. During his time in office, Supervisor Gregory has combined his collaborative approach to governance, civil engineering background, and understanding of the region's unique needs to inform infrastructure improvements, enhance public safety, and support the sustainable growth of Napa County. He has championed issues including wildfire prevention, housing access and affordability, post-fire recovery, mental health services, transportation advancements, and protection of Napa County's agricultural and environmental resources.
Supervisor Alfredo Pedroza has served as both the youngest and first Latino leader in history to serve on both Napa City Council and the Napa County Board of Supervisors. Additionally, Pedroza is the second-ever two-time appointed Chair of the Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), leading the commission during the global pandemic and successfully securing $8 million to study potential upvalley roundabouts on Highway 29 to improve traffic and safety. Supervisor Pedroza has championed not only transportation infrastructure initiatives, but has worked to expand affordable housing, increase farmworker housing, enhance fire prevention and disaster preparedness, and protect Napa agricultural heritage.
Thank you to Supervisors Gregory and Pedroza for your outstanding service and unwavering dedication to Napa County. Best wishes on your next chapters!
