On this Thankful Thursday, since it's time to go back to school, I am going to celebrate both of my fabulous jobs!

As a teacher, I am blessed to make so many wonderful relationships with amazing families! Some of these relationships have continued over years of time. I feel very fortunate to help the people in my school world to plan memorable vacations!
As a travel agent I am grateful for the support of both my colleagues and former students' families.

It’s always fun when I can bring my passion and love of travel to my school world!

Pierce went on our family vacation to Universal, Disney, Fort Lauderdale Beach, and Key Largo. Pierce then attended my travel agency's conference and had many unique experiences from a ship tour & special recognition dinner, to a VIP tour at Disney World. Pierce ended the summer with a family reunion and spending time at our lake house.

For this month’s Thankful Thursday, I will be celebrating the blessings of the two fabulous jobs I am grateful to have. Since this summer was full of travel, I am going to start by celebrating being a travel agent!

A few weeks again, I had the opportunity for a full week of learning along with my fellow Diserella Travel Advisors. We attended workshops, had supplier presentations, a ship tour, resort tours, and I was fortunate enough to attend a VIP tour. This year’s theme was “Dream, Explore, & Make Memories” and I can tell you, I was able to do that and so much more! I will be featuring different aspects of my trip over the next month.

I'm finally getting to my final post about our June trip...

A 36 hour adventure! When we woke up on another rainy day with no end in sight, we decided to pack a few things and head to better weather. We kept some things in our hotel room that we left behind & booked another set of rooms at Baker’s Cay in Key Largo. What a wonderful resort choice!

First off, the place had several nice features and amenities. Two different beach areas offered great swimming. There were also paddle boards, kayaks, and floating islands. Two different pools with cascading waterfalls, one for adults, and one family friendly. There was a hot tub and a fabulous pool bar with a wonderful bartender. There is also a great pier for fishing. In the morning hours, they offer fishing equipment and bait which are included amenities.

The boys spent their time swimming off the beach, swimming in the pool, and fishing off the pier. They caught all sorts of finish, including a barracuda! They made friends in the pool playing football and we enjoyed two really nice days in Key Largo.

The hotel location was also near some fun shops and great dining choices, which we explored the one evening we spent there. On our way back to Fort Lauderdale, we stopped by Everglades Alligator Farm. There we saw all types of gators, took an airboat ride, watched an alligator feeding, and an alligator show. We also got to hold and take pictures with a baby alligator. Definitely a fun stop on our way back!

Take-away: Don’t be afraid to just scrap your original vacation plan & try something different!
