Also recent, the exterior of the two buildings was fully refreshed with a calming, coastal vibe. The Gilded Palm's Winter 2025 Calendar is now open on vrbo.com/2441091. Some weeks have already been booked by past guests but these dates are still available: January 1 - February 15, March 1 - 8 & April 5 onward. During season, we require a minimum 7 night stay and check-in / check-out is Saturday to Saturday. We love guests staying 2 weeks or more, reach out to learn about discounts for longer stays. You always have the option to book directly with us if you want to eliminate the Vrbo Guest Fee. Adding a teaser photo (professional photography will be updated this coming off-season) of our buildings' new paint job and roof - offering a fresh coastal vibe!

Tried out the new (open 6 weeks now) Limón Rooftop Bar at the new AC Hotel on the corner of 5th Ave & Goodlette. We made a 2pm reservation so skipped lunch to be hungry enough. The vibe is upscale vacation. The views are so-so, but the feel of being above the activity below is fun and we enjoyed soaking up the sun. I had a watermelon Prosecco spritzer that was light and refreshing - loved it. We had a shrimp small plate that was surprisingly big and so good (from the shrimp to the sauce to flatbread to even the greens on top). We then shared a margherita pizza that was so incredibly good. I was really impressed with the quality and taste of the food, I would definitely go back! 

Afterwards, we walked up and down 5th Avenue and did a little shopping. Then we went to The French for their happy hour which runs from 2:30 to 5:30. I love their frozé but tried something different this time, fraise’s fizz, and loved it! We also ordered a charcuterie plate which had more meat than cheese & oddly, did not come with any kind of bread. We requested some of the house bread, which is always good served with their soft butter and roasted garlic.

Sending love out to all our friends, guests and renters who have checked in on us!! We checked on The Gilded Palm the day after Ian. We already had power, noticed no damage to windows, no wind driven rain entered the unit AND there was no flooding at all on property. The water never even went over the sidewalk out in front of the buildings! Yay!! We heard last night that the boil water notice had ended in the City Of Naples, and I think power has been restored to many. I suspect that in the next week or so we will see a return to most restaurants opening! I’m sure there are a couple open already.

Last week I wrapped up my final continuing ed class for this license renewal period (14 hours required every two years). That night we treated ourselves to dinner on 5th. Del Mar Naples did not disappoint. I'd been looking forward to trying them out ever since they opened during season of 2022. Located a 2 minute walk from The Gilded Palm, it's a great place to have appetizers and a drink or a full dinner. We had hoped to sit out on the balcony at the sweet tables overlooking 5th, but that evening had been rainy so we opted for indoors. We asked to be seated upstairs. It's quieter and the ambiance is soothing - love the pretty, lighted trees and the beautiful vaulted ceiling (reminded me of the meal I ate up there many years back when the restaurant was still Café Lurcat). The cuisine is served in a Mediterranean style. The wine list offered many options and our selection paired great with their charcuterie board (great variety and delicious, loved the lightly pickled veggies). I could easily go back there sometime just for wine & cheese, a shared app & dessert! Our entrees were unique & prepared well - just be sure you read what the toppings are. Ours were both Med style which meant olives and a tomato sauce on my swordfish, I've never had red sauce on swordfish before! We chose the coffee mousse for dessert and we both loved it - even Jeremy who dislikes anything coffee flavored. It was prepared like a light cheesecake and the chocolate flavor was much more prominent with just a light coffee flavor. Delish! If you're looking for something a little different than the traditional American cuisine you can get at oodles of Naples restaurants, check out Del Mar - we think you'll love it. By the way, del mar means "of the sea" - with that how can you go wrong?!

Another couple found us on Vrbo and enjoyed their summer getaway to Naples last week. Summer is drawing more and more guests to Naples. No reservations needed for the restaurants, the beach is less crowded and the water is the perfect temperature, 5th Ave is still a happening place - AND it's lower cost off-season pricing! If you'd like to getaway this Fall, call me! We still have availability in September and October. (Winter is booked through April 15.)

5/5 stars - We know Naples very well, this is by far the best area to stay

Unbelievably spotless clean, as if you would stay at the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton ( but better ). Communication with host was prompt, polite and a delight. They went above and beyond to make sure you find the place easily and open/close the unit with no issues. You won't find a better location in Naples. It is less than a block from 5th which you have everything you need. The dinning choices are endless but all delicious. The shopping is great and THE BEST PART, 4 blocks from the beach! Kara had thought about every single detail! From beach chairs, to a full appointed kitchen and nice gestures such as Pelegrino water. The bed is high-end, from sheets to cover, mattress and pillows, again, better than top hotels in the world. Two TVs, great quality curtains, plushy towels and everything you can think of you could ever need in a bathroom, from body lotion to quality soaps. Again, we need to emphasize how clean her place was. At a price that you can't beat, you will feel right at home and also feel that you are at a 5-star hotel. We will book it every summer. We stay in Naples every year and this was BY FAR the best we had.

Christmas Walk on 5th Ave - An enjoyable evening strolling the Avenue, listening to Christmas music, and getting in the holiday spirit!

We had dinner at BiCE, I think our favorite part was the bread service and scallops appetizer, we may have been a little hungry!

And then we checked out the brand new Vine Room, a speakeasy style bar. Our cocktail was legit, and we were impressed that they gave us two glasses when we said we were going to split the cocktail. Never seen that done before! I was most impressed with the glassware and square ice cube! 😉

The Christmas walk is a two night event, going on again Saturday night!

This video is making me look forward to my next trip down to the Naples Pier! What I love about swimming at the pier is how the sand is built up more and yet is very level. You can walk further out (without the water getting too deep) by the pier, than in many other locations along our beach. I typically pack a lunch when I go to the beach but I didn't realize how many food options the onsite refreshment stand offers. Maybe this next time I'll order a lunch! And it really does seem like fishing should be a must-do, especially considering you don't need to have a license.

The Pier is located at the end of 12th Avenue S, which is just 8 blocks from the convenient beach access for guests staying at The Gilded Palm.

Fifth Avenue S - The heart of Naples. We have enjoyed so many wonderful moments on 5th! Watching parades, walking amongst the palm trees wrapped in white lights, seeing shows at Sugden/Naples Players, dinner at many, many, many of the restaurants, ice cream & coffee shops, shopping, listening (& dancing!) to live music, car shows, art walks, and so much more!
