Waited out the insane weather this morning and we were instantly rewarded for doing so. Strolled out after the storms and we were tight on this monster Permit in less than 5 minutes once the crab was in the water! Beautiful fish for good client Andrew coming in at 42” loa. Ended the afternoon going 3/5. Summertime pigs are here and on the prowl. .perrybedell

Ask and you shall receive. Michael requested to fish the backcountry for juvenile Tarpon and Snook and we did just that. These smaller fish are more manageable than their bigger relatives and a lot of fun on light tackle.

The weather windows have been few and far in between this year but we’re making everyone of them count. New client Brooks came down from Tampa to knock Permit off his bucket list and we did just that.

Killer turnout for both Easter trips today. Backcountry Snooking in the morning followed up by an afternoon Permit session. We went 3/3 and got to play with some nice jacks on top water plugs. Spring bite continues to be good despite the sporadic weather.

There are many different methods to catch a Snook in southwest Florida but one of our favorites is pulling them out of the mangroves on light tackle. Watching them head shake along the shoreline always gets you fired up and is a great option this time of the year with the stiff southerly wind. Darren in town from Michigan with his boys had a great morning of fishing the backcountry for the first time.

These are the days where you really get to test your skills as a guide. Anyone can be a hero when the weather is perfect. How many tricks do you have up your sleeve when all the variables are stacked against you? Bait did not come easy this morning but we made every single one count. Peter and his party got to catch some big jacks, a nice handful of Snook and this beautiful 36” backcountry Redfish.

Epic would be an understatement… Last minute cancellation turned into a Permit dream come true for our good friend Jay. Think this is the first time we’ve landed double digit fish on a half day. Big girls were slurping the crab as quick as you could get it in the water. Spring time Permit magic is here in full swing.
