These two photos signify the struggles of being a commercial fisherman. I was hauling gear and all of sudden my overheat alarm sounded. I quickly ran over to the engine hatch, opened it to find antifreeze coolant spewing out of my exhaust manifold. I was in trouble! I radioed a very good friend of mine, Joe Baker and explained my situation. Without hesitation Joe responds, "I'm on my way". I shut down the engine, and opened the radiator cap, pouring in every drop of water I could find, mostly Poland spring water bottles. Fired her back up and headed for the point, some 11 miles north of where I was. My water lasted me 20 minutes. I shut her down again, awaiting Joe's arrival. He came in and started tossing me jugs of water. Without his help I would have been stranded, he followed me all the way back to the dock. I am forever grateful for his service. So once back at the dock, Evan and I began the 3 hour chore of removing the damaged manifold, and started the process of acquiring a new $2500 manifold with the additional $800 in bolts, gaskets and nuts! Anyway, we will have some lobsters for sale Sunday from 12-4, and hopefully next weekend as well
