The weather is indeed "horriable" today just in time for our annual "Horriable Day" Open House (1-4 pm) when we remember the journal entries remarking on the weather. So, put on your raincoat and join us for some hot cider and explore history where it happend! We also honor Veterans today, noting that the Expedition was a military expedition, appointed by President Thomas Jefferson.
An added bonus this year is the return of the salmon to the creek beside the station--see the short video taken of them on Thursday!
15 Star Flag Flying at Knappton Cove
It’s always fun to see the Encampment’s 15 star AND 15 stripe flag fly at Knappton Cove. This flag that the Lewis and Clark Expedition carried was the only U.S. flag that ever had more than 13 stripes. Great weekend event with the Pacific NW Living Historians!
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for your generous donations! We are encouraged and hopeful for 2021!
