Oasis Bike Workshop is a free, co-operative bike repair workshop open to Nashville’s at-risk and homeless youth. Through this program, youth participate in six classes in which they are trained in bicycle safety and maintenance. Upon completion of the workshop, each participant keeps his or her hand-built bicycle as well as a helmet, lock and toolkit. Youth participants take a pledge promising to

pass on knowledge gained in these workshops to other young people in their neighborhoods. This encourages participants to engage within their communities and provides them with the training and experience they need to become activists in their own ways. Additionally, The Workshop promotes the environmental and health benefits inherent to bicycling. And finally, provides an answer to the area’s lack of public transportation for young people, which The Workshop views as a general social justice issue. Show your support for The Workshop by donating. Bicycle donations are accepted at both the Oasis Center location (1704 Charlotte Ave., Ste.200) and at Halcyon Bike Shop (1118 Halcyon Ave.). Donated bikes that are too small for our young people are fixed and donated to area shelters. Your monetary contribution will help ensure that The Workshop will continue providing for Nashville’s youth. All donations are tax-deductible and will help provide the necessary materials for Workshop students.

Want to highlight one of our incredible supporters! Back in 2022 Jim Keffer rode 3,784 miles (with 155,499 feet of climbing!) from Astoria, Oregon to Portland, Maine over the course of 45 days. Along with some support from Harpeth Bike Club , they raised over $14,000 (!) in donations for Oasis Bike Workshop and our youth programs. Harpeth Bike Club also just donated us a gently used Specialized Tarmac that our youth MTB team members can use to train in the off season. We quite literally could not do this without the generous support of you all! Thank you Jim and Amy.

Thrilled to be back at Pearl! These incredibly focused students are a few weeks into turning wrenches and rebuilding their bikes. Lots of mechanical problem solving. Good for our brains. Will wrap up just in time for a spring group ride 🌷🚲🪻
