Anyone who has been on the Jamboree knows she has a love of beavers, but only few know why.

"It started when I was a kid,” explains Jenny. “My grandparents lived on a lake and my grandfather would take me fishing all the time. Since we were on a farm he would eradicate any vermin in or near his barn and farm.” Jenny remembers that near the lake there was a beaver dam. “He never touched their home. He would take the time to watch them with me and show me the size of the trees they could move. He often explained, ‘You can't get rid of a beaver. You can tear down their home and they will rebuild it in no time. You can sit here day and night, and you will find them working, always trying to make things better, you just can't stop a beaver!’

“My entire life I have never forgotten that... you just can't stop a beaver!”

Jenny says, “I have carried that thought throughout my whole life. The bus, my home life, everything around me, all have faced challenges, but I always think of my grandfather sitting there watching the beavers working and know, ‘You just can't stop a beaver!’”

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could be like the beaver? So, now y'all know when you board the Jamboree why the beaver is so loved around here!
