Our small group had the opportunity to visit Chinchero, Cusco, considered one of the most beautiful and important towns of the Inca Empire. At 11,400 ft., Chinchero is surrounded by the Andean landscape with its snow covered mountains, and is draped in breathtaking natural beauty. First, we visited Parwa Cultural Center. It was fascinating to see the result of sustainable tourism. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting these women, and learning about a long tradition of weaving and dyes at the Parwa Cultural Center.
