The 2022 Bands on the Beach Lineup has been announced - Pensacola Beach's popular outdoor summer concert series, Bands on the Beach, is back starting April 5 and features performers for every musical taste. Presented by the Santa Rosa Island Authority, these free, weekly concerts are held every Tuesday night from 7-9 p.m. at the Gulfside Pavilion on Pensacola Beach – overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

Featuring a lineup of regional artists, Bands on the Beach delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. Cat Country 98.7 radio personality Brent Lane or his station cohosts will take the stage before each show to introduce the featured band and make stage announcements during intermissions.

Spectators are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Please note: pets and glass are prohibited.

Pensacola’s Mardi Gras celebration is just around the corner, with the parade scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 26.

Did you know that downtown Pensacola’s celebration is one of the oldest in the U.S. and Pensacola may be the first Florida city to observe Mardi Gras in 1874?

Unfortunatley, Pensacola's early Mardi Gras fizzled after a few years but was revived with great pomp and procession in 1900 when this photo was taken. The “Priscus,” or the title of the festival’s ceremonial king, was Alexander Clement (A.C.) Blount II.

Today, Mardi Gras is Pensacola's largest celebration and brings 10,000 revelers to the heart of downtown Pensacola.

The Pensacola Bay Bridge construction team reminds you to drive carefully to and from the event and have a designated driver in your group if needed.

Right now it is sea turtle nesting season on Navarre Beach, which happens annually from May through October. Light pollution can disorient sea turtles when they emerge from their nests and can actually lead them away from the Gulf of Mexico, instead of towards it. Make sure to use red light flashlights when walking the beach at night.
